Cars run faster is cooler weather? I not saying 95 degreez compared to 55 Degreez. Im talking about 95 Degreez with is daytime weather compared 75 Degreez which is night time weather.

I hear alot of people say cars run faster at night when its cooler. Is this true?

As long as the humidity stays down I run faster in cooler air. I think there is more of a difference with forced induction cars, compared to aspirated cars.

its works even for a NA car might. Humidity and atmospheric pressure is a bitch. If the air is "thick" it slows any vehicle down.

Haven't you noticed in HOT air your gas mileage in general sucks? same concept.

Absolutely true.

Colder weather equals faster times, jus warm up the tires good.

IAT's are lower, air is more dense, fuel is more dense, cooling effect is more efficient

Curious how drag racers change their set-up to gain more HP in colder weather!!

How much HP will a non power adder engine see as the temps get lower?

From what I can calculate, with all things being equal (weight, tune, fuel, boost) I loose about 3 10ths and 6 mph in the heat.

The last time I went to the track my engine temp was at 160 degreez before I even started the car, but of course it was 95 degreez outside at 2pm and very humid. Im going to Orangeburg this weekend and try some night time runs at 75 degreez to see how much I pick up. If I can pick up 1/10 id be more than happy.

It's all about the DA (Density Altitude).

The closer to 0 or negative the better you will run. This time of year your looking around +1500 to +2000 DA even at night.

Check out this link to calculate DA.

Dochester Sunday was 2403 DA. No wonder I ran so good.
