Well I moved back to Texas to have surgery on my neck and back. After countless MRI's and nurosurgens visits they have desided not to do either surgery right now. My back just has a bad disk and for now they are going to wait to the pain gets worse before doing the surgery. I still have to have it, the Dr's just want to try to wait long as possible because Im only 30.
My neck on the other hand is differnt. They found two differnt injuries, one to my upper neck and one to my spinal cord. After seeing 3 differnt surgens they all agreed that the surgery is to risky right now at my age. The chance of being paralized or even dieing is pretty high in the surgery I need. So for now they are trying to control the pain with all kinds of medications, physical theropy, tens unit and limiting what I do. I will basically have to use all those the rest of my life.
My neck was getting worse and worse before I moved. Now its getting worse and doing it faster than before. I am very lucky to shut down the shop when I did. There has been days at a time where I couldnt do anything because of my neck pain. It comes and goes and there is no telling when or how long it last. When its at its worst I cant turn my neck hardly at all and my shoulders and hands burn really bad making it hard to hold things. I havent made it a week straight yet where I have been able to anything I wanted or even normal things.
I am not asking for pitty or anything like that, I just wanted to give an update to everyone who knows me and also maybe people that didnt know me may can understand a little more why I closed my shop.

Thanks for the update, unfortunately it isn't the type we were hoping for. Your a good man and should not be having to go through this pain. I wish you the best of luck and for the pain to not be as severe. The neck problem worries me especially with the spinal cord damage. Be carefull not to inflict further damage to the neck.

I guess what we can pray for is for you to have more good days than bad days.

Keep us posted.

Sorry to hear that Lorenz. I hope at least the pain eases up a little bit, and if they could fix it with no risks that would be awesome. Good luck man

Good luck to you Lorenz I know how frustrating medical issues and constant pain can be. Although yours is much more severe than mine is.

Good luck and try to keep a positive outlook and attitude.

Prayers will be sent your way.

Thanks everyone. Its a pain in the ass but I always just think there are people who have it worse. I just got my meds adjusted today, one of the pills wasnt allowing me to sleep. I have been getting just a few hours a day for a couple of weeks. The good news is the meds seem to be reducing the nerve problems and pain alot so Im pretty excited that they may work.

We all wish you good luck in some sort of recovery to ease your pain.

Have you ever considered an inversion table? It may not be the answer to everyone's back ailments, but the one I have sure helps with my bulged L5-S1 disk. I am at least 1/2" taller after hanging on it for about 10 minutes.

The thing I like about the inversion table is that it is here at home whenever I feel the need for it. No doctor's appointments necessary.
