hey chillerman how did the car run with the newly equiped cage?
Went a 7.59 on a 125 shot, spun a little with 13.5 psi tire pressure, plus I shifted at 5500 rpm. Had a 1.57 60'.
Changed to my 150 jets, lowered tires to 12.5 psi, hooked-up and carried the tires, and went a 7.35 with a 1.53 short time. Lowered my shift point back to 5200 rpm. This is where the motor likes to shift to stay in the power band.
With the added weight of the cage, I was pleased with how it ran though. I just got finished cutting out the crash bar in the right hand door. Weighed the removed parts on my refrigerant scale, and the net result was a 17lb. weight reduction. Still have to do the drivers side door. I will continue to work on it every night to be ready for civil wars.
The goal is to try and crack a 6.90 something before we retire this bone stock 302. I'm sure it will take some more spray and weight reduction, but we're sure gonna try. I did notice that the torque converter liked the 150 shot better, seemed to do a better job of locking it up.

Stick some more gas on it!!! Lol, was the door bar wide or was it skinny? Are ur power windows still working? I can cut that stuff out of the back one weekend like we talked about that will shave a great deal right there

The crash bar was about 6 or 7" at it's widest point and tapered down on the ends. I'm fixing to go outside and do the drivers door. The power windows still work. I want to keep them working. I did remove the electric door lock solenoid.
