I'd start looking to get power else where. Your spinning that Eaton pretty fast already with that 8lb Lower.

+1 There are plenty of other mods to get power from.

WELL I WAS THINKING OF JUST GOING TO THE 2.8 WITH THE SLOTS CUT IN IT TO GRIP. BUT I FOUND A DRY NITROUS KIT FOR $269 FROM DYNOTUNENITROUS.COM AND GIVE IT A 25 SHOT AND GET 75-100HP OUT OF IT. FOR UNDER 300 BUCKS YOU CANT BEAT THAT. I KNOW I NEED THE THROTTLE BODY AND UPPER INTAKE, ELECTRIC FAN AND WATER PUMP WOULD ALL HELP BUT MAN THATS EXPENSIVE.

Id ditch the 8#, and get a 6# with a ported blower see how that works for you. Then add juice to it later. Or you can just save up and get a KB or Whipple.

Stiegmeyer(sp) ports blower its around $500. There is also someone on here that has an extra blower you can probably borrow. If he doesnt mind he will probably PM you.

THAT WOULD DIFFERENTLY BE AN IDEA PORT IT AND GET THE BIG INTAKE STUFF. NOW WHY DO YOU THINK I NEED TO GET RID OF THE 8LB ..I GOT HEAT COVERED WITH THE BIG INTERCOOLER

Meet up with Chris, and you 2 go to the track. Together you guys should make 2-3 back to back runs. That way you can see how much E.T. you loose after each run compared to someone who has a 6lb.
I'm very interested in the results, and that way you will have a real world comparison.

Like mike said I will be at Dorchester tomorrow at 7:00 Pm if you want to come out and run them and compare a 6# w/ port, and a 8#.

All I have is the stock boost guage but I should be around 15-16#

see thats what i thought and when we dynoed it in va, it was 95 in a garage it was making 13 across the board witht he 8lb lower. i thought it would have been more like 16

HOW CROWDED IS THE TRACK ON FRIDAY NIGHTS?
chrisheltra

Not nearly as crowded as it is on Sun. There is usually no more than about 50 cars on Fri.

You sure you have an 8 lower? I had a 4 lower makin that much, measure the pulley and see what size it is.
Example:
7.5 inches = stock
8.0 = 2lbs
8.25 = 3lbs
8.5 = 4lbs
8.75 = 5lbs
9.0 = 6lbs
9.50-9.75 = 8lbs (looks like a steering wheel)
Add approx .5 inches for every 2 lbs.
Upper pulley
2.93= stock
2.80= +1-2 Psi
2.75= +2-3 psi
All of these are estimated gains but should get close depending on the mfg. of the pulley

its pretty big ill measure it for sure...it was from rpm outlet. now i have stock throttle body and intake so maybe im hold ing it back.

Don't make any differnence on the guage really ,I doubt you'd see a pound difference
stock airbox, stock TB, stock plenum, Dirty intercooler 4psi pulley made 13.5-14 psi even with a vaccuum leak
AEM Brute force,ported TB, and clean intercooler 4psi pulley made 13.5-14psi on same guage.
Biggest diference was when I adjusted the boost actuator, even on stock pulley I noticed a diff. on the guage probably due to the butterfly seating better and sealing up the leak by.
I think the reason that when people install all that stuff they see a boost diff. is because they adjust the actuator when they install a plenum or blower. I may be wrong, but all that stuff including a SC port just adds flow and efficiency not pressure.(those two things do add HP though)
Also I have added a 2.75 upper pulley to my 5lb lower pulley, before upper I would see 8 psi and then it would climb to 14.5-15 psi on the same guage. After the upper I see an instant 10 psi then it climbs to 16.5-17 psi. I only see this in a 3rd gear pull. On 1st and 2nd i see it max at 14psi before shift change.

Careful what you wish for with the more boost thing.

NOW I DONT HAVE ANY CONVERTORS SO IM NOT GOING TO SHOW AS MUCH BOOST. I FORGOT ABOUT THAT

Don't push the actuator down too much, you'll get into boost much quicker. You'll be at half throttle and be seeing a few pounds of boost.
