Thanks, Mike. Like the Lightning, and I did drive a Ram1500 QuadCab for work for a few years, that was a nice ride.

Not yet, bwelch. Still saving up, but first thing is headers and exhaust. Then maybe a procharger. Trying to save up, still.

Work was merged with another company, so I have to see if the new year calls for job lost or not.

Thanks guys, and thanks 1iron. They keep giving us the bull about keeping only the top or best folks, but when a job opening is posted and we are interested in it, then apply for it. WTH!? If the best are staying, then shouldn't the opening be closed since we are have people here. The field I am in has basically doubled in man power, so something got to give. Maybe not a 50 percent cut, but 25 percent or so. Who knows, luckily for now merging the two networks is taking some time, so we are safe for now.

My dad has a 09 styker blue g8 gt. I put a varaam intake on it. That was like pulling teeth to get him to do that. I want to put a tune on it but he doesn't want to void the warranty.

A friend of mine in Conover, NC, which is close to Charlotte, has his own Dyno Tune company. Once I get things going, I will be going up there to have him do the tune. I didn't think it voided a warranty, since it would be hard to prove what cause the failure.

Any of you going up to the Lowes Motorspeedway this Friday? If you donate to one of the charities, or buy some merchandise, you get to run on the track for about 3 or so laps, behind a pace car. If you lag behind, then you could catch up to the pack. I heard some folks hit about 100+. I am thinking about it, but not sure yet.

Oh, one question; what does the Rep Power: the green or red dots refer to?

11-25-2009, 08:49 PM
I hit the cut off on the way to bowman last friday 137mph and its got a lot left. And the rep power is kinda like a high school popularity contest!

DAMN! I have hit 115 on i26 just up from the i95 intersection, coming home from Columbia. I had a G6 come up on me, when I was doing 78. He came up kind of quick, but never did pass. I put it into Sport Shift mode, stomped on it, it shifted down to second gear and the G6 was getting smaller and smaller, in my mirror. I looked down and realize I was going 115, so I let off and went back to my 78. Lucky that no troopers were at this area.

Me and Harry made 30 plus miles worth of laps in the Charlotte motor speedway, during the Truestreet part of the NMRA race at Zmax. They made us go through the twisties in the infield to keep our speed down, which was probably good because fatty / skinny tire combo's don't handle very well. Welcome to the site..:bigthumb:

Thanks jmd.

Nice GOAT! Wanted one when they came out, but the kids were a bit younger and two doors would have been a pain for us. Now, we only have one left in the house, and soon will be learning to drive. He can't wait to get behind the G8. To bad I don't have something else at the moment to teach him in, but maybe he will do fine. I taught the other two in a 91 civic, so he was real happy when we got rid of it.

welcome to the forums. nice ride.

about the tune and warranty, its all up to the dealership you get warranty work done at. some are more mod friendly than others. Some are just impossible to deal with.

We have a service writer on the board that may be able to add more info about mods and warranties. Don't throw out there the Magnusson-Moss warranty act because manufacturers have deeper pockets for lawyers than we do.

welcome again and Happy Thanksgiving!

Alltel was bought by Verizon, and most of the guys and the girl are still here in this office. One transferred to OH, to get closer to the wife's family.

That is true, about deeper pockets for lawyers. I have already drove to Dallas, then to San Antonio, and back. Ride was great. The power was there when need to get around the a-holes.

Thanks, and Happy Thankgiving to you as well.

Thanks 05Saleen, my father-in-law just purchased a '09 Mustang GT, black.

98Camarod, I bought this in Mar '08, as was the only year that this color was available. McElveen did have some of the GXP G8s, but I know it is a bit late now. I drive a Jeep Grand Chorekee Laredo for work.

Welcome to the board. It's always good to have new members around here.

I am said service writer, and all I can say is, check with your dealer first. Some guys handle mods better than others. The tune thing is where stuff gets interesting, though. I can only speak for Ford; but they get all kinds of upset when you mess with the software in the processor. Something about "altering an emissions control device" (their words, not mine) gets them angry. Biggest thing I can say, though, is that-if and when something goes wrong-remove the mods-where possible-and see if the problem is still there. Illusions is a pro at this. :D
