Just looking for a few opinions
I want to do the conversion to disks in the rear soon and need some input. Should I go with the LRS (or Summit) rear 4 lug conversion kit (about seven hundred) and keep it 4 lug. This seems like a good idea because its cheaper and does what I need and the wheels I want come in 4lug... Also I can just keep the Pony rims on til summer comes along and all so the cost (breaks and wheels) can be spread out...

Or..... Drop the 1300 and just do a 5 lug conversion.. Get the same wheels but have to drop the money for them at the same time..

Not really interested in doing the whole junk yard treasure hunt for parts so just throwing that out there to keep that Recommendation to a minimum.

you could do the 5 lug conversion for about 4-500 with just axles and rotors. use the same drums just redrill and use stock ford 5 lug rotors with some aftermarket axles at about 250. then do what you want from there.

or the easiest is to keep the 4 lug and just do the brakes. 4 lug is strong enough for a good bit of abuse so that would be cheaper

I would say it depends on what you want to do with the car. If it's a cruiser and/or LIGHT duty track toy, stick with the 4 lug. If you are going to be throwing 1000 hp at it, or road racing, I would go 5 lug. Of course, my cheap ass would stay 4 lug; and I'd upgrade it, if I broke something.

Haha well it sounds like your cheap ass is like my cheap ass! That's what I am going to do is just stick with 4 lug for now and see what happens. Ordered a conversion kit yesterday.. Now I am debating on the Paxton Novi 1220 self lube super charger or a Vortec V3 SI trim... : )
Heard mixed results on Self Lube superchargers so not sure..
