im wanting to cut my oil filter open to see if its sludging up. does anyone have the tool to do it?

I just use a hacksaw. And you dont have to worry about a pissed off mom because she has an oily can opener now

That brand new SIXPACKGUT built motor is sludging up the oil filter? Thats hard to believe.

It's not a thick metal and anything that can cut sheetmetel will cut the oil filter. get a f**kin grip.

stock mota and there was a buncha sludge in the motor and when we cleaned its clogging my oil filters. i just wanna see inside bill!

every single person who posted ideas WILL WORK tyler. Including a hacksaw. Plain and simple. Hell you can use a dremel , grinder or even a pair of side cutters if you needed to. The oil filter is thin metal to cut.

My niebor has a tool ( He works for Cat Blanchard) That is made to cut filters open I'm sure I can borrow it 696-7004 Mitch

I saw a cat mechanic using one too on a cougar at work because of engine problems. I'm pretty sure the can opener method is best because it introduces less shavings to the filter media. Alowing engine manufacures to send the filters in for particulate testing to determine a failure of an engine.

Now that I think about it the way Sixpack was loving those heads when he ported them it may not be sludge- if you know what I mean!:hysterical:
