My fog lights are a kill switch

I was driving home from getting some pizza tonight and it was pretty dark down the road so I turned on my fog lights to brighten up the road. Then about a minute or so later the car just died. I had no clue why, so I threw it in N and started it back up and it fired right up but then died shortly after. So I turned the fog lights off and the car stayed running and I got to drive home.

I'm guessing my alternator is getting ready to dump on me, but I've never really had any charging problems before nor do I know what to look for to confirm the alternator problem. Any ideas?

clean all your elec connections

take it to Oriellys, and have Zac or Tyler check the system

I have a dc amp clamp that I use with my oscilloscope to look at alternator output amp ripple. This setup has proven to be the trick for seeing open or shorted diodes in any charging system for me.
