Mike from Dorchester called me today and said that they will be open this sunday. They planned on having the track widened by opening time but the concrete people are behind and wont be able to do the track till a few weeks after easter so they said they would open up till so they dont loose much money. He just asked to put the word out.

I have been out of the racing seen for several years (since Lowcountry was closed). Is Dorchester the same as it was a couple years ago?

Thanks, Mike

The track isn't the most reliable. Sometimes it works for most and sometimes it don't.

I got pissed off last year at the crappy prep and made a big deal about it. Then I figured out it was my shitbox car.

Between their poor track prep, lack of crowd control, and lack of consistent timing I always thought they were always 2nd fiddle to Lowcountry. Just my .02

Yea, I spoke to Yaki the other day, he said they want to redo the concrete, but the guy needs like 2 weeks or so of good weather to do it. They guy they are going to use is the same guy that did Orangeburg and Rockingham. He also spoke of leasing new track cleaning equipment also, but I guess we will see..:bigthumb:

Low Country had a nice track and nice facility but the guys who ran it were ASS HATS. Dorchester is not to bad except for the person to person rules. The rules are changed a little and when you get like 7.50's I think you gotta wear a helmet. Bump that. My car go's maybe 7.49'sI don't wanna wear a helmet.:hysterical:

I have seen people go WAY faster w/out a helmet. I think it depends on who you are.

EXACTLY as I said person to person. At the line, I know most of those guys and nobody has said anything. Pick up my time slip and get the 3rd degree. I have been going there for years and last year is when they said they started that. We will see what happens this year. Goin for a 7.30

I heard a rumor that Dorchester is being forced to update the track. Not sure how true this is. The track works for alot a people but if anyone havent noticed hardly any 4 sec cars come to dorchester to test and when they do they usually blow the tires off on the hit. Alot of cars gets loose on the top end including mines so the chances of wrecking goes up. Ever noticed no one has any grudgefest at Dorchester? Dorchester is a nice track but a update is highly needed....
