I need to get my car dynoed and see where my combo stands. I want a place that can dyno with a wideband. Any places around the Charleston area that I can get my car dynoed.

ALLUSAMOTORSPORTS 866-402-4480 Ted Harris, 843-729-9897 Marcus Cox

3514D South Live Oak Drive
Moncks Corner, SC 29461

$75 for 3 pulls or $100 a hour, but real easy to work with

Why not go to Dennis Jordan's? Jordan's Performance in Conway. He has a dynojet chassis dyno.

X2. That would also be much closer for you, Andy. Is CSS still around in that area or are you trying to stay away from them?

there is a chassis dyno on remount, beside Strom Dodge, kinda behind Advance.

guy is REAL old school, but he seemed up to speed, we dyno'ed a buddy's diesel there while back.

i plan on having him dyno the nova when i git it skrate.

Yep. The name of that place on remount is called Power zone. They only charge 40 for 3 pulls. If you want to get it dyno tuned I'd go to CPR performance in West Columbia. They found 45 hp in my combo last year.

As mentioned you have ALLUSA in Moncks Corner, and you also have Anthony's shop AV Tuning over off Dorchestor with a dynojet.

Don't go to Powerzone.

X2 on the no go to powerzone, that's what I was trying to get at in the previous post.

There is another dyno at 526/Dorchester Rd. I can't remember the name of the shop but Electech might chime in with the name. it's where my first tune was done.

Already spoke to Dennis and for some reason he want let me use his dyno. I have asked him a few times and he always has an excuse so I would rather drive somewhere else. I also go Todd's Rest. a few miles from my house but he is a diehard FORD guy and wants me to schedule a date 2-3 weeks in advance and then he will only let me dyno if he has nothing to dyno. And CSS I rather drive somewhere so everyone around don't know what I got.

Secret Squirrel! Been a lot of that going on lately.

If you are set on DynoJets then your two best options would be AllUSA in Moncks Corner or AV Tuning and Development on Dorchester.

AV tends to be really backed up and hard to get onto. Usually busy with in house stuff

The other option is ShowZone with a Mustang Dyno.

Looking at, at least, a month or two. Still trying to get things finalized.

it has been about eight years since I was in Power Zone. Had a friend who had some engine work done over there for his DSM. I gathered then that they focused more on Stang's and tuners back then for Dyno's. just my opinion from that experience and I have no recent experiences with them.

I think Arthur Todd uses Dennis' dyno. If you're looking for someone to tune the car for you, then I'd take it to Chris at CPR in Columbia.

Arthur has his own MD.

take the drive to columbia and let chris tuten tune for you. excellent tuner and a great guy to be around and talk to. he will also explain everything he is about to do before he does so you will be completely informed of what is going on. he races himself and so does his brothers, my 2 cents.

Knowing that the OP picked up over a tenth...by tuning the car himself after someone mentioned in this thread couldnt figure it out..I think he will continue to do his own tuning. Just need some place to strap to the rollers.

I'm not scared I put down almost 550rwhp through a powerglide and a loose converter with my old combo at the showzone.:bigthumb: P.S dyno numbers dont win races.

If you are wanting to tune it, I would suggest a load-bearing dyno like Mustang/Dyno dynamics.
If you just want some inflated numbers to compare with everyone else, use the dynojet.

toslow
05-12-2010, 05:19 PM
Thats right dyno numbers don't win races but when you make 550 on that
dyno you aint talkin shit. Makin numbers on that dyno means you doin somethin. Maybe 1 day I will have some big numbers like you champ.

I made a mistake just got off the phone with Andy and he gained .8 and 7 mph with him doing the tuning other than another person mentioned in this thread.

Self-tuning is the best option if you have the tools and knowledge. Adding to that, if you can find a decent road that goes unused, you got yourself the crucial part of the equation that dynos seek to simulate.

Congrats to the OP.

agreed going down the road is the best way if you can data log a little and adjust air/fuel. dyno's don't always get it right.

Agreed, but they have dynojets that can be load bearing for tuning purposes now. Anthony's new dyno is the 224lxc so he can load the vehicle for tuning purposes and then switch to inertia based for "numbers"

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I can tune my car myself as I have HPTuners. I have been tuning this car for 3 years now. I am not the best but I have been doing alot of reading up on it. I just need to get my cold idle tune a little better and I will be good. I have put some more mods on my car and I want to be sure that the WOT blast down the strip are where they need to be on a wideband. I am having a surge on the topend that is got me puzzled. I have been told its going lean but looking at the plugs they look to be rich-?????. I just want to get it on a GOOD dyno and wideband and see if I can tell what's going on. I got a vid here that you can hear the surge at the top of the track any suggestions on what it may be.

you just can hear the surge in this vid.

I just want to make sure I am not going lean on the topend.
