If you have a few minutes I think this is a good read. I want one of these cars bad.Ford continues to amaze me and the improvements they made just from 2010 are incredible , compared to the 05-09 cars it's like night and day and it makes my '03 sound like a relic. If you are a Ford person, or even if you are not, and you read this you have to admit the job they have done at Ford and SVT pushes the new GT500 into supercar territory.

I'd be afraid to drive it around here. With all the crazy drivers and then add in I-26 falling apart, it would be ruined within 6 months. :(

Cant do much about the crazy drivers but you can do like Ive done and avoid I-26 at all costs.

Agreed, I avoid that stretch of highway at all costs... I would rather hit the lights on Rivers then the cracks, uneven pavement, road cones, and rocks flying around at random on 26... Haven't had too many run ins with crazy drivers though.

The 2011 Mustang is a win all around, but the GT500 is nothing short of amazing! Wish I had the dough for sure!

We sold a silver one with the performance package for 500 over invoice. (GREAT customer) Next one(s) will likely go for list. NO MARKUP

It would suck to have bought a 2010 after all the upgrades in the 2011.

I've been in a debate with myself for the last few months about getting the 2011 GT (dont know if I would go for the 500 for monthly insurance premium and cost of car itself). My thing is this: like in the end of the article states, one could take the cash and put it in something else (ie another fox or something a little more classic. Or both depending..) and still have (a lot?) of money to spare. Its nice not to have loans out now and even nicer paying less then 100 a month for full coverage on the Fox... :)

The age old arguement, you could take any decent cheap platform and make it faster in the straight line and maybe handle better.........but in the end it still wouldn't be 1/10th the car as a whole.....nor would it have a warranty.

lol................that's what I did. I still like it and it will soon be much faster than the 2011 soon enough. :-) But yeah...........still sucks though. To push on it as they did testing will not happen during "semi normal" driving. Oh yeah the F1 Supercar tires that come on the GT500 are nothing short of............sucking..........no traction in first, forget about speed shifting to nsecond either.... Need some good MT's for sure. The 0-60 times would dramaticially lower with some sticky tires.

That was the best way to put it! I used to be of the old mindset, like most are "I can go faster for cheaper, with older" but after owning the car I have now, your statement says it to a "T"! Well said!
You still going to HHP tomorrow morning?

Think about how I feel! Yours is a Cadillac compared to my 08. If I didnÔÇÖt have so many mods done to mine I would consider selling it to get a 2011. I still love the car but the creature comforts are nonexistent compared to the 2011.

The 2011 is a step above the 2010 and previous years. But just as every 03-04 Cobra owner didn't loath that they didn't buy a 07-09 GT500, neither will every 10 GT500 owner. The 2010 is still a big step above all the previous SVT products.

Crazy tread design. http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2010/05/lead7shelbygt500fd2011.jpg
It's a sick car, but I'd rather just get a '11 GT and build up the 5.0.

The 1/10th a car part is where I would disagree. Having done a couple project full Terminator swaps (ie: motor, transmission, irs, brake system, and full interior) into Foxes I can say from personal experience that they are more of a car then the donor (in my opinion) because not only do they out perform in just about every aspect but they also are a rather comfortable ride. They also have the wolf in sheep's clothing aspect to them as well as the non "cookie cutter" feel when you take it out to a gathering/show.
Totally right about the warranty part though. That's the second biggest reason I am looking at buying new. First being I don't have a place, tools, or time to do the previously mentioned swap like I used to...

Well mine does have the SYNC System where it talks to you to place calls or to select different music..........hands free phone calls through the speakers........Plays DVD's (only in Neutral at a stop when parked)....I attach a jump drive in its slot with my favorite music..........I can change the instrument cluster's colors, to include interior lighting colors..........oh yeah the voice that's talks to you is a woman's and kinda sexy............lol...........but I like the idea of the 2011 loosing 102lbs of weight.........I'll ask the wife if I can trade the 2010 in on a 2011...............no wait..............better not or I might become even more handicapped.................lol

Don't rub it in. The only real option I have is the Navigation system. Compared to yours it is not much more than a fold up map.

My wife just felt sorry for me and let me have my way with the Mustang......Funny thing is that the Mustang has always been the arch enemy of GN owner's.........then they caught on to forced induction.
