i have never had a set of coated headers but i have seen coatings fall off and look terrible after a short time on others.
brand new uncoated steel headers cost $644, if i buy them direct from JET HOT, with their sterling coating inside and out 1700* degree lifetime warranty for $830.
is the extra $200 worth it? after i typed this it seems worth it but before, it didnt:cocaine:

well, i have never had a set coated so i really dont know what i'm missing out on. another note would be car they are going on, may have inner fenderwells removed so heat wouldnt be a big deal

i have had a few sets that were ceramic coated and some friends of mine and it cut down on the engine bay heat quite a bit. i think it prohibits rust also.

They are great espicially if you check plugs between rounds. Shut the car off and 5 minutes or so, they are ok to touch. The big trick is getting them on your car without scratching the coating off of them. We wrapped harry's in blue painters tape and still scratched them..

My bad, I think you have a hemi, and checking plugs is nothing for you!

If you will be able to see them through the fenders (inner fenders missing) then they will stand out more due to the shiny coating and just look nicer but that is personal pref. Performance wise it did cut a bit of underhood heat for me aswell!

i think rusty headers look like crap.
most guys got a bajillion dollars in their car, and they skimped $200 on headers.
if it's worth doing...it's worth doing right...which means it costs more :(

I have a set a cermic coated headers on my truck. I have had them on for 5 or 6 years now and they still look good. The theory is they contain the heat internal to the piping better and increase exhaust velocity utilizing the heat to pull the gases out.

blazers are coated and they do cool down pretty quick. still look good two years later. it was also a daily for a while after the conversion so it's no garage queen.

I've never had a set of coated headers that didn't chip and rust, including 3 sets of Jet Hot Long Tubes. The primaries stay coated just fine. Its where they go under the car that they get sandblasted on the highway and start rusting and flaking which eventually when that happens it just spreads like cancer up the tubes. Yes, they warranty them, but the caveat to that is, you have to pay to remove them, box them up and ship them both ways to have them re-coated and that in itself will be $100+ not to mention your down time and labor. Jet Hot knows very few people will take advantage of that and that is why they offer it as a selling point. I did it once before I learned my lesson. Took me a month to get mine back.
They are definitely worth the money, dont get me wrong. I just dont want you to be under the impression that they stay sterling very long. Obviously, the less you drive it, the longer it will last.
