Just some advise. Drive the droptop like it is. GUT the fox. Build it slowly to race it how you want to. Road, Drag, Street. Whatever. Don't give up on the fox just yet. I used to have an '85 GT with a 351, 5-speed, 6-point cage, built rear... Started to mod my daily (F150, at the time), and never got it done. Sold it at a MASSIVE loss. Still wish I kept that car to this day. Just trying to keep you from making a decision you will regret.

Ok let me see if I comprehend this correctly. You currently do not have money to invest in the Fox. You have a perfectly running V6 convertible which BTW looks great the way it is.

So with that said, the money you could be saving to finish the Fox your sinking into the V6. That line of thinking will not get the Fox finished ever. So you might as well just place the fox up for sale. Then place the V6 up for sale and buy a V8 mustang of your liking as a new platform to drive and build.

Now back to your original WTB question. I think an 8.8 with 3.73's for the new edge mustang (99-04) would be difficult. You could look in LKQ and find an "8.8" which is the size rear your looking for BTW, with stock gearing for around $100 - $150. Then just sport the 3.27 gears and upgrade to 3.73's later if you need.
