Have you guys heard of a company called Technical and Project Engineering (TAPE) LLC?
I got a phone call from a headhunter today who found my resume' on MONSTER. According to their website they just won a $69.2M contract for "some training stuff" in conjunction with SPAWAR.
Have any of you at SAIC, EMA, SPAWAR heard of them? I've been with AAI for 10 years and just got a nice promotion last week, so I am not LOOKING to leave, but I told him I would entertain offers.
Thanks,
Jeff

I got the info off their site, but I was looking to see if anyone had any first hand knowledge about their working relationship in the local area. I had NEVER heard of them before today. I'll look to see if I can find the guy Chris mentioned and see if he has any input that may be helpful.
Thanks,
jeff

Thanks Carl. I told this guy I would give him a call back by Close of business Tuesday to let him know to proceed or not with the interview process or not. I get a call about my resume on Monster about 2-3 times a month but this is the first time, IN A LONG TIME it was about another DOD contractor in the Charleston area. Most of them want me to relocate to different regions of the country.

Never heard of them. I would be curious of what contract it is. They may be a Sub-contractor looking for bodies to fill a contract that someone else is prime on. What system are they supporting?

That is a rather large sum of money for a contract to do "some training stuff". Must be more involved than what they have told you.

Will be looking for a similiar job when I retire from the Military in Charleston. Good luck on this one if it's for you.-Shane

From what the guy mentioned, they are partnered with SPAWAR as a small business set-aside contractor. So the overall contract may be much larger. I know from experience that we "AAI" have done the same thing to get our feet in the door with contracts that are set aside for small business' also. If you work in or with a DOD contractor too, then you know what I'm talking about. The lady who owns TAPE is a retired Army LTC.

Oh yeah minorities, disabled and vets get priority when it comes to awarding contracts.

We usually build and train a single platform at a time, but we do a lot of one offs. Were kinda a R&D shop and dont mass produce systems.
