my riding mower is broken and i need my yard cut and bagged until i get it fixed. anyone know any good lawn company's around. this is the 1st time i have ever had anyone else cut my yard. i looked at the mower the belt is smoking and it will not move and the clutch pedal is note engaging. it is a troybuilt and is 6 years old.

i have worked alot on the mower in the past. all the levers and belts are in their proper place. it will not even roll with the clutch in or in neutral. it did before. i will have driggers work on it.

With a glove on, manually operate each of the pullies under the mower, are the belts cracked or coming apart? Take it to a mower shop and "they will screw you over". No offense to anyone on here but mower shops overcharge (IMHO). Pullies and belts are cheap! Are the blades straight and sharp? Is there a belt going back to the trans or rear end area? If so, take a look at that belt and if its gone bad that could be the culprit.

i replaced the blades this year and belts last year. the back pulley that drives the rear end is not turning. the front pully is turning from the engine and is smoking when engauged. the belt is tight when enguaged. the clutch piston slides back and forth when depressed. the trans selctor moves. the blades turn.
