:bigthumb: M5 - tasteful mods.

I'm usually not a fan of Radenergie wheels (a friend has his Z8 blinged with a set), but those look good powdercoated with the stripe.

Welcome aboard.

Also, I have a bet with a friend of mine over the e60 M5.

He says that the car is detuned to 400hp when it is sold new and only after 5k miles can you go to the dealership and obtain a "key" to unlock the remaining horsies. According to him, the key is inserted between the driver door sill and the seat.

Of course I know he is an idiot, so I made a post about it over on the M5 board: http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e60-m5-e61-m5-touring-discussion/161606-key-unlock-horsies.html

He has a 550i (w/ M-Tech package), so I sent him this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-M5-3D-Logo-Auto-Car-M-TEC-Emblem-Sticker-Badge-/190414930716?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c559d431c

So, how long did it take for you to get your key? :hysterical:

Vette has alot more balls down low. I think from an 80 roll would be good race but now with the tune an varam prob the vette. Tomorrow i will have ported intake an throttle body on with a new tune so prob def the vette now. The bmw is alot more fun to drive though and rides great

thats awesome yeah I never heard of that. Everything done to my car is from Race precision the are badass with the M5 and put down more power than any other company like Dinan. Only problem is parts are expensive the headers were 7500!!!

Can't hide money!

Welcome. I'm usually a bigger fan of E39 M5s but that E60 is done up right. :bigthumb: And yes..being a 4 time owner of bimmers, I can attest to how stupidly expensive it is to mod one. You gotta pay to play...which is why I don't play no more (would like to get another E30 someday).

Nice driveway mods, sir. $7500 for headers sounds a bit insane, though. One would think you could have a reputable custom shop make a set for less than half of that. Probably not, though. They probably figure, if you own an M5, you can afford it.

LOL play on player!!! The headers were prob not the best mod but at the time in my mind was im keeping this car for a while and im gonna make the baddest car out of it. I was on waiting list for when RPI releases their supercharger next month to buy one. Now that I got the vette im gonna make this the go car. Not gonna go crazy though. Prob just Cam and longtubes now. I put the throttle boddy and intake on today tomorrow I should have my tune back from jereny formato car should be running good. May supercharge or turbo down the road if it gets boring. Wanna run it on track soon

The Z should wake up nicely with a modest camshaft and longtubes. You should come out to SSS one night and introduce yourself... I want to drool over the M5 anyway. :bigthumb:
