I just got this th400 out of a dually. It has a bolt on yoke on the back of it. I unbolted it and it went right on another th400 I have that had a slip yoke. Will the one that had the bolt on yoke work with a slip yoke?

Ive been checkin on some other sites and thats not what they said. The stock slip yoke will not work, but they do make one that will. They had some pics of the 2 output shafts. And the splines did not go down as far on the bolt on shaft.

But I know somebody that is doing the samething right now. I called him after he got the trans out. Had him try it and he said his slip yoke went up on the bolt on shaft just as far as the other. Only thing is it a after maket slip yoke. Not sure if its made to fit the bolt on shaft or not. Hell I dont know.

couldnt tell ya what yoke I have (its an aftermarket yoke and driveshaft that was built 15 yrs ago) but Ive run th400s with both types of output shaft style and no problems.................

My brother has a Turbo 400 with a bolt on yolk. Would he be able to use a stock yolk without the vent hole, and slip it on? Or would he have to use an aftermarket yolk, which has shortened internal splines, instead? Thanks, Jim.
