The warranty expires on the trailblazer in February so to ease the beating on the car I would like some input on how to make this big turd go fast!! Time to start making a list of things buy.
100% STOCK 2006 TBSS AWD
Would like to start with at least these 3 things
LS1 E-Fans
RPM Level VI transmission
3200 TC
about 3.5k
Now I have one requirement, its my official DD so it needs to have a mellow exhaust, so not touching the exhaust.
Trying to keep this next part to around 5-6k
Three ideas.
1) TVS 1900 Blower kit, good power down low coupled with the TC and the AWD should really get it off the line. should make about 450awhp
2) STS turbo kit, sweet turbo sound, nice exhaust note, and along with the TC should be pretty good off the line as well. 450-500awhp
3) Forge the bottom end of short block and a 175-200 progressive hit of nitrous. This would be my cheapest route, and probably the fastest. BUT I HATE refilling bottles, I also do not like waiting for it to explode.
Im leaning towards the TVS(50%), then the STS(30%), then the Nitrous(20%)
My goal? Mid 7's in the 1/8 and a smile from ear to ear.

Thats a 2wd not a awd. The awd are always slower mod for mod. The only thing the awd works better for is street racing.

No spray?
Also his exhaust is too loud to be my DD.

I vote Maggie. Big fan of the Maggie and if you do it, step up to the 2300. I wouldn't bother with the 1900 unless the other just won't fit.

I would get gerald to build the tranny any day over an RPM, every RPM trans ive had expierence with was junk
my truck went 8.0 bone stock with a rich 150 pill in it
with a low lift stealth cam, vig 3800 converter, e fans, and a filter through stock manifolds went 7.85 on 29" drag radials on motor
no need for the forged bottom end with a 200 shot, LS2's can handle plenty more than that when tuned correctly
if you only want mid 7's it can be done on motor pretty cheap and easy

vts was my vote. I have scanned that kit a couple of times for my truck. But right now with all the fires in the oven, I am in the same boat as you. but probably will go nitrous first :D

Hmm, who local can take my shortblock to and have them throw in some forged rods and pistons and do all the blueprinting and balancing for me? any price? pretty much reuse the stock crank and block. might clean it up to 370ci. nothing fancy

That factory 4L70E in the TBSS already has the 5 pinion planets, hardened input shaft, hardened output shaft, and hardened stator support. All it needs for aftermarket parts is a double cage forward sprag, beast sun shell, the input drum reinforcement sleeve, 7 plate Raybestos Blue Plate 3-4 clutch pack, and the Transgo HD2 shift kit. With a Carbonite 2-4 band, the factory Corvette servo equipped with some aftermarket d-ring rubber seals has enough force to hold 2nd gear without resorting to those $120 aftermarket servos.
The above mods to a 4L65/70 will readily survive 700 horsepower, assuming the factory line pressure cutback in 2nd gear on up is taken out of the tune.
If nothing is broke or worn out in your current 4L65/70 trans yet, total cost for the above improvements should be ~$1000-$1200 bench cost using your existing trans.

Efans, Trans, Stall and a tune.
FWIW, I haven't had any issues with my RPM trans.
You could also look into a L92 H/C/I setup. There have been guys putting down good numbers (Dyno & Track) with that setup & the cam isn't big at all.

If you do this then you might as well just get the TVS2300.
I'll make the decision easy for you. If you fly out to Qatar and pick me up, i'll buy you whatever TVS you want lol. I hope to be back this weekend sometime.

If only it was that easy. Unfortunately I have to go through Kuwait. I do have to say that I'm impressed with Al Udeid though!

dont need race tires, im AWD!, and i will NEVER purchase another FI kit that is used ever again. i bought my supercharger kit for the c6 used, and it bit me on the ass! missing parts here and there add up, and i could of just bought a new kit for only a couple hundred more... thanks anyways guys.
but
im think im going with
tvs 2300 thinking 18psi with stock CI
forged rods and pistons
built transminssion
3200 twin disk stall
should put me in the low 7's
estimating cost around 8k +/- 1K

TVS, with the awd you'll be able to take full advantage of that huge powerband.

Not really needed for tvs - max I would do is 2600 or so. With boost, the TB converter is going to flash a bit higher.

FyI had to pull the front diff off that one (HOLY SH*t) you do not want to do that! Axles running through oil pans unbolting motor mounts. Major pain in the ass seems there is a lot of leaky pinion seals with these. They must blead out quick wasn't a drop of oil in there.
