Hey, all. Just wanted to introduce myself. Joined yesterday, but got a bit distracted.

My name is Jim. I have a heavily modified 2003 Ford Lightning. I know a lot of the local Lightning guys and wanted to be able to keep in touch. I plan to drag my truck down to next Fall's Southern Truck Shootout where I am sure I will see a bunch of you truck guys. As the screen name suggests, I hail from Connecticut.

No, not local. And NO! Not a race truck. I drive my junk up to 200 miles just to get to the tracks I run. No tracks in State.

I am in Norwalk, which is on the I-95 corridor.

Las time it was weighed at the track it was at 4400#s. That was with my 280# azz in it. Since then I have shed a bunch of weight. It should weigh in about 4150 or so.

Composite leafs, rollpan, Aluminum block, Mustang rack, tubular control arms, etc reduce weight without hurting streetability much. Lots of little things adding up as well.

Post some vids and pics Jim.

I lost all video equip and even most camera stuff in my divorce. I have nothing recent. And noone bothered to video my PB pass at Spookfest. Guess they figured nothing special would happen on a shakedown run.

But you can video the truck next Fall at SGMP.

Here is an old one. A lot has changed since then. This was on a boost only MP setup and very little suspension mods. Looking for my first ten second run back then. It runs 9.93 @ 138 now with lots left in it.

So close damn.

I had a 125 mph pass with a decent 60' at the shootout and still got an 11. http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/images/smilies/nonono.gif

My truck MPH'd a bit low with the small blower and big pulley ratio. But it ran the 1/8th real well. That run was a PB at the time. I was not sure if I should be happy to shave .25 off my best or be pissed I missed the 10s by two thousanths! I stared at that best ET for almost a year before getting a chance to better it. Ran 10.90 on boost the next Fall. Then started spraying. 10.5..10.25... 10.11. Then fought a miss that turned out to be a headgasket issue.

501

When it emerged from this mishap it was ready to do battle with the big blower trucks!
