This topic was brought up last night. I wanted to put it out there to see if there is any interest. Interest was kind of mixed last night. If you want to participate in a tow rig class then post up if we have enough people then we can make it happen.
Only rule:
Must have a car trailer in tow when you come through the gate.

You should also add that you must have carried a car to the track.

I can do that too..... :)
If I can tow a boat I can tow a car. Anybody have a car trailer I can borrow?

You dont have to. Plan on running the Monster for fun, but we're not towing the Mustang there.

I got excited for a minute when I saw "tow rig class"......but, a Lightning is hardly what I'd call a "tow rig". Is's like my buddy Scott says...... "You can tow anything with anything.......for a little while."
Maybe it should be a diesel truck class instead of a tow rig class? I mean hell we once towed a Nova to Dorchester with a 240Z. That don't make a 240 a tow rig, it just makes us idiots lol.

It has a 5000# tow capacity. Hell it even has an F-250 trans.

If you tow a car trailer from Charleston to bowman with a 240z then you can run in the tow rig class. Im not making a million rules for these classes. Only a few concrete rules.

Well no use in putting a 8.80 - 9.30 sec. diesel truck that weighs 6800 to 7500 pounds up against a Lightning or a S10 with a LS motor.
I guess I'll race the Stang and tow with the Dodge lol.

BTW. This is what a "tow rig" looks like. :finger: 21500 pounds

There are going to be fast trucks running in the tow rig class. This class is just for fun, hell all of this is for fun.
If you dont want to run your truck, then dont. But I encourage you to come out and have some fun with everyone else, win or lose.

I need to quit racing the Dodge honestly. Ive broken 3 input shafts in the last few months (two in one week) and its getting a lil bit old pulling that tranny and transfer case out lol.
I did get the big upgraded shaft last time though so we'll see.

Of his old setup yea there are a few around. But im letting no birdies out of the bag until he makes passes on the new bad ass setup. He'll tell all im sure, but all I can say as of now is that big 5000 lb + ram is gonna be a bad bitch.

I dont want any info on his new setup just vids of his old one. Im not looking to dig up any secrets. Is it the IIRC white regular cab one that Ive seen a vid of? That truck was pretty damn quick.

7.0s on just boost with a single turbo...From what I understand now it has 3 systems, and obviously its compounded :bigthumb:

they are old, and not "up armored" they are pretty bare bones. i think the turret makes more aerodymanic drag than the weight of the truck.
they only weigh ~6k each,
one was on a two car trailer by itself
one hooked to my truck is on a normal (3500# axles) trailer. it has a steel deck, so it holds up better than wood. but it's really too much weight for that trailer.
most newer deisel trucks tip ~7000#'s, and my 2006 CTD is a pathetic pooch, it's pretty slow.
i blew up my 2004 CTD twice, with a downloader.
long story, but I don't mod diesels much any more :(
i get 15~18mpg, so i don't worry about it.
i think i got 10~12 pulling the nova in the 24 ft enclosed trailer @ 70.
