well finally had time to work on the vette..here's what I found. What do yall think?

the original problem. yeah..two different lifters were installed by a very well known shop.

yeah i have a stock cam here as well. but I think Im going to wait till I get a 2 piece timing cover because that shit was a bitch to get out. not as simple as a fbody.

yeah i have a stock cam here as well. but I think Im going to wait till I get a 2 piece timing cover because that shit was a bitch to get out. not as simple as a fbody.
see if jeff still had his, not sure if he sold it or not

ask the fucks at vengence..they installed them for the previous owner.

he said it had almost 8k on it. Just funny that the lifter that failed was the stock one..

Looks like a early style and a late style lifter. I pulled apart a 100% bone stock LS2 and it had one style of lifters on one side and the other side had a differnt style from GM. What length push rods did they have in there?

7.4. there were 15 comp lifters and 1 stock one.

Was the valve spring that lifter was serving going into coil bind by chance?
It takes quite a bit of force to break through the hardened surface of the cam lobes and the roller on the bottom of the lifter like that.

Not sure...I'm replacing the lifters, cam and springs. The pushrods are fine. But if need i'll replace those with the new cam.
