It's not the shop that does Chris's work.
Wow!!?!??!??!?!.. Whoever I talked to must think I am stupid, or they were pulling a tattoo artest trick by trying to price me out the door and also have my buy everything they needed to do the job.

I use simmons, he's done me pretty good on mod motors, but I know the deal with some of the other things he's done for others, so its 50/50...... Like I said though, I've had about 4 mod motors done there and the machine work he done was good.

simmons did mine and did good work for me also. they are one of the few local shops that had the torque plate that you have to have for the 4.6

Thats the reason I still use him, there aren't many around. My butt does crenge everytime I go there though because I know whats happened to a few others on here, so far "knock on wood" my stuff's been ok.

Simmons did my stuff twice. He did a fantastic job on my lt1, but gave me a head back that was warped with 2 bent valves for my ls1.

Mike at Simmon's did my balancing, but I have also heard horror stories. Dan Corbin at Camtech in Summerville does everything else, but I am not sure if he has the plates for a mod motor. His number is 514-9414, if you want to give him a call.

I don't use him for head work, but rest assured you guys are the reason I say be cautious if you choose that route.

This is going to be the first time I've used anybody in this state for any block work if I do at all, but hey, a number is a number and any monkey can read a number (I hope ..) I really just need a torque plate and I'm just about to the point to where I'm going to buy one...

Yea! He does great work! NOT! Their entire operation is a fucking joke! They are crooks IMO. Fuck Simons and everything about that place.
If you do go there, see if they have an early model windsor block that they "overbored" and get it from them if they do. They damn sure wouldnt let me see it. Sorry pieces of shit.
Did I mention Fuck Simons? :Finger2:

Agreed! He did an awesome job on my heads. He purchased my Trick Flow R heads from Trick Flow as aluminum rectangles for $400.00 a pair. No intake or exhaust runners cut into them, combustion chambers, nothing. He did the rest with his CNC machine. When he was finished I didn't know wether to put them on the car or put a lamp shade on them and set the on the end tables in my house. Good guy to know, he has access to custom cams people, like Bullet and J Allen..:bigthumb:

Well I spent the morning at Simons. It was really cool hearing my dad and Charlie talk about the old days and all that fun jazz. It was nice Meeting Him, Eliz, and Mike, We all talked for a good while about todays techno stuff.
Mike and I had a good talk about concerns and things that I wanted, everyone around there was really nice and Charlie assured me that it would be taken care of.
No I didn't see an over bored block laying around, I did see two 350 cranks welded together tho. Charlie and I had a funny conversation about it, talking about how he did it for the fair, and he was amazed that I knew what it was when I layed eyes on it because I started laughing.
Now we wait and see, hope the work comes out as good as the day I had down there..
