I sold my car through there and they seemed ok. I know that they'll bring the car down here if you're seious about it.

Supposedly they're really good with their insurance program when you buy through them. Forgot who it was but I was talking to somebody on the board (think it was Wes) who's buddy bought a C6 through them, threw a rod through the side of the block a few weeks later. Called up Carmax and they installed a brand new LS7 and transmission for $150 deductible.

I was headed to Columbia on Saturday and saw your big ass truck headed the other way. Were you coming back from checking out the one at carmax in Greensboro?

I worked with a guy at my previous job that bought an Explorer from them. He found it out of state and they shipped it in here for him. he's pleased with it and the transaction.

They will bring it down for you if you are serious. They usually don't budge from the listed price much at all either.

my main concern is do you have to commit to buy before they will bring it down? i really would want to look it over pretty well before she made a commitment

I looked at them a long time ago and I think they would bring it here to look at it but if you didn't buy it there was a fee. If you bought it then no fee. I think that was how it was then.

You have to pay a fee to have them transfer it and you don't test drive it...if you test drive it, then you don't have to pay the fee...they will authorize your credit card in order to transfer it...
I was going to buy a 2008 F350 crewcab dually through them...found my Duramax in the time I told them to transfer it and the three days it took to get to Columbia...I went and test drove it even though I and them knew I wasn't going to buy it...told them if they deal with the duramax fell through I'd be back, but the dirty was just what I wanted...

Carmax seems to be a good place to deal with after the sale as well. We see a few of the Fords come into Jones, and they are in pretty good mechanical condition. The good thing is, if something breaks-and it's over their heads-Carmax's people are smart enough to send it to a dealer. They also have a pretty good extended warranty program. The company is CNA, and is very easy to deal with.

Bought the wife's car from them in W. Ashley. AWESOME experience. The price is what it is, and usually very reasonable. No haggling necessary, and they will work with you. Just call 'em.

Bought my Lightning there in '05. They shipped it from the Northeast (was like a $300 fee that went towards the purchase if I bought it). It got there in 2 days and they scheduled me to come test drive it in Columbia (nearest place) that same night. I drove it for 15 minutes, parked it and only spent maybe 20-25 minutes inside doing paperwork with the agent before I walked out with the keys. There was no haggle or heavy sales pitch on warranty or such.
It was the most painless car purchase I have ever had. I will buy from Carmax when it is an option. I got a steal on a 2 year old truck that only had 3K miles. It was like brand new.

I only have experince with selling to them, which I did not.
They offered me 17k for the Jeep Srt8, Rick Hendrick gave me 26.5k......
It seems that they want "run of the mill" cars, econo-shitboxes.....
And they seem to charge out the ass for the nicer cars, or enthusiast cars.
edit: Dam I must be right on the money with my 26k for what they are selling 500 miles out TBSS's.....
If you're interested in black, I would go a bit lower :P

As many times as I have traded/bought/sold I might as well be!
I think I often get that confused though, good point.

Yes. Electric fans help out alot on mpg and hp. Mine had an intake, electric fans, catback, tune, built tranny and a 3600 yank, 22inch rims. I never had it to the track but that b#tch was fast for what it was. Im thinking 8.0s There were plenty of pissed of mustang owners in the Charleston area when I had it....

Have any pics of it? Just curious if I may have seen it.
edit: Why do most of the TBSS guys go for vette e-fans? Why not the truck style ones? Wouldn't they carry more cooling due to being a work truck and heavy duty?

you dont have to switch the radiator, if you run duals you have the option of a high speed and low speed, do some research on tbssowners.com
