Contact Berlins Restaurant Supply on Rivers Ave. However, it may take a lot of ice to recover the investment for equipment and electricity to run it.

If the ice is used strictly for cooling water/gatorade in a cooler, you may be better off freezing 20oz or 2 liter bottles of water to place in the cooler. At the end of the day, just put them back in the freezer.

Robert dependingon what size you are looking for or need.

I worked for a discount restaurant supply place here in gtown for amin.. and I was looking at ice deals.. I was looking at 200-400lb a day units with 800-1000lb bins, but after I did the math and even with the employee discount they were giving me(not much), it was going to take 1.5yrs to recouple any money off of it.. this was compaired to the $1 for 20lbs of ice I can get at the Ice house deals in atown.. Yeah it would of been really nice to have an ice machine in my shop, but as said the side of the road ice house deal in andrews is $1 for 20lbs. altho I still burn $20 a night at the track, and after 1.5yrs I would of made money...but either way, ya will still save in the long run.

I should of taken the dive when I had the chance.. but eh.. I really didn't want to give those guys any money anyway.....

Might find a broken one in your price range. For 1-2k is a decent price for an ice machine.

yeah, not going to happen.. 1k is dirt cheap probably dosen't work and up.. thats just the head, no bin.. maybe a bin if the head dosen't work.. 1000-3000 depending on what works, condition, size. used stuff I'm talking.

Cost of an ice machine added to running costs and maintenance will make this a bad move. Better to buy a chest freezer and make ice in forms that work for your needs. Or join a social club or be a good enough patron at a bar resteurant and get them to supply you.(sponsorship?)

I have an appliance service business. Ice makers are notorious for needing attention.

we have one at the shop that we put in last summer for filling coolers and stuff. they def take some power to run and from time to time needs some adjustments. they are nice to have around but if i need ice and not at the shop or close by i would go to one of those free standing ice machines for 1.25-1.50 for 20lb

Robert,

Don't bother with anything used. You will only wind up with a POS. I've worked on ice machines for 20+ years, brand new is the only way to go. Energy and water consumption may be too cost prohibitive to justify your current usage. Just my two-cents.

I got a buddy in the local VFD. I get all the "free" ice whenever I pick up the phone.

True story. I sell residential Ice Machines and they definately are high maintenance and expensive ~ $1,200 - 1,500 + .
