Looks like on this front rim, he had some curb rash but had it repaired. It is hard to notice unless you look closely.

few dumb questions, not a ford guy, but Dad is

-will these fit a stock 99? or will he have to roll the fender?
-what's a ballpark price for tires (or list sizes and I will tirerack the info) that will fit within stock wheel wells (if they do)?

he has 4 same sized 17's on there now, but i am thinking these staggered rims would look better. it's time to replace the cheap chinese (NEXEN) 17 tires that came on it, so if these fit, i will ask if he wants to step up his game and GO BIG OR GO HOME!!

either way, no worries, just thinking out loud.

Yeah they will bolt right up with no issues. You wouldn't have to roll the fenders. American muscle sells them in a package with 275/35 fronts and 285/35 rears.

FWIW, I will ring him up tomorrow and see what he says. he will have to go to a car show this weekend, and actually see them on a car. so don't hold your breath for him, but he is really enjoying playing with his toy.

I appreciate you running it by him

he's old school!

he said "you gotta rotate them tires to get good use out of them"

he did not want the staggered sizes, his shop up there, rotates the tires every oil change to get him most life out of them

he called me about 3 months after he had the car:
'hey, my back tires have about half the tread of the front tires, wonder why?'

i asked him:
"how often do you spin the tires"

'well, at least once, ever time i drive it...ain't you SUPPOSED to spin the tires?"

"uh, well, that is what is removing your tread"

.....silence, crickets chirping.....

'well, i like spinning the tires....'

Yeah, my dad is the same way. Ive pretty much always had staggered treads on mine and never have an issue with tread wear
