Not a whole lot is known about the specifics on that lap yet; driver, tires, suspension, aero package etc. or the validity of the claim. I think what could have improved the ZR1's time is to put a pro/factory driver in the seat from the ALM Series. Instead, they stuck a corvette engineer behind the wheel who missed a 3-4 shift and left the track a half dozen times (minor albeit but it all adds up). But it still was probably not enough to make up the time that the Viper ACR put down.

All I can say is I love modern american muscle cars. In the last few years; they have put as much effort into being able to make the car turn, brake and have more balance than ever in history & oh BTW, they are making more HP than ever on top of that. Gotta love technology!
