Anybody see this on the front page of the paper? This is my Dad. Funny thing is the guy that's making the complaint with the school board hasn't even read the damn book.

I probably missed it, but where did it say he didn't read it? I know it says his wife read the book. Maybe I skipped over it.

The kids have a choice on which book to read, and if this book interests them they should be allowed to read it.

People who complain about such things cant be good at parenting. If you dont like the book and its contents dont let your kid read it. No need to pull it from the shelves.

Yea he's busted his ass for a very long time to get there, there's a reason most people haven't heard of him. He writes stuff that's more well known in literary circles as opposed to the general public.

Exactly, he finds all of this humorous, he finds it entertaining at worst. Like he says in the article he's proud that someone has a problem with it, he was joking that you haven't arrived until someone is trying to get your book banned lol

This is stupid and sad that the school board is actually giving it this much attention.

Good book by the way and I know several others that have enjoyed it as well.

Just checked on Amazon, the ranking for the book this morning was 580,711, it's now jumped up to 24,746. Might sound like not a big deal but that's a HUGE jump on Amazon, and the book has been out for years. Laughing all the way to the bank lol

I'm sure some of those kids have read worse things that what they are bitching about. If they want kids to read, and it interests them (and those that they mentioned may not be into reading might find it interesting), why not let 'em read it? Any reason they can find to bitch about something though :roll:

Might have to check that book out.
