I've only ridden on one jetski and I was riding bitch with my wifes aunt (who was in playboy with her twin sister, just gotta throw that in there) and I was scared shitless. That thing was the top of the line seadoo and that bitch would fly! It said we were going 84mph and there's something about going that fast and being 2ft away from your death that just gets me.
That's when I was reminded why I never rode one before.

I just got this one on Monday. I plan to make it out about twice a month during the warm months. If you get one (which you can cheap) you are more than welcome to ride with us. Lisa and I had a blast with Rob and Tara and are looking forwards to it.
The lake was choppy and no fun, but the river was actually really nice.

The two white and red ones are mine. they are of the 99 model year vintage.
If you have the big monies then buy a 4 stroke, just remember though, everything on them cost MORE. The old 2 stroke skis may not be as fast but are easy and cheap to work on. I think 60mph on the water is pretty damn fast anyway, most boats wont go that fast.
In my opinion ive found sea doo to be easier to work on then the other skis, parts are plentiful and so is information. I wouldnt go farther back than 96.

When you check it out, take a compression gauge. Compression should be NO less than 120psi in each cylinder. 150 is perfect.
Check the wear ring (where the impeller rides) If you see excessive clearance its going to need one. Not a hard job, but something to haggle with the seller about.
Make sure the trailer is in good shape, i just went through an ordeal saturday due to a rusted out trailer. Check the bearings for play, make sure the tires are in good shape.

If everything checks out, yeah.
If you get there and the wear ring is gone or any oil leaks then you can chip some more off the price. If the compression doesnt show correctly or wont start, ect, then youd need to walk away, unless he comes WAY down.
