Its possible that someone siphoned gas from one of my cars and I was interested in buying a locking gas cap for it. Are all gas caps a standard size with standard threads or do they vary? Can I just go to the auto parts store and pick a random cap and expect it to work?

They are different, when you go to the parts store, tell them what you have and they will show your options.

Locking ones are nice, but very easy to break just a FYI

If anybody can point me in the right direction for a locking gas cap for a '04 C240 4matic it would be greatly appreciated.

ive seen some super nice ones that are alot harder to break even if you try. They are made out of some sort of metal rather than the plastic versions. Ill try to find a link.
