Any one of my handguns is a whole lot easier to conceal than a baseball bat!
If I am dressed for the day, you can pretty much bet that I have at least 8 rounds of .45 or 10 rounds of 9mm ready to roll. And if that isn't enough, there's an appropriate reload to double that round count in my weak side front pocket.
That ought to get me out of any flash mob.

Can you legally shoot them in that situation?

^ You can if your life is genuinely in jeapordy. You just can't go all Gunsmoke on all of them. If you shoot one or two and the others bailout you must stop no matter how hard the urge is to kill all of them. :bigthumb:

Disparity of force along with the threat of great bodily harm is a very valid reason in the eyes of the law for using deadly force.
If you have to whip it out and use it, still expect the typical anti-gun DAs to give you a hard time even if you are in the right for protecting yourself. All in all, it is best to avoid getting yourself in a bad situation where you have to draw and shoot in the first place. For starters, that means keeping your ego locked up when you are carrying. Ever since I started carrying, I have had to walk away from a few antagonizing situations in which back in the old days, I would have stayed and gone toe to toe to solve. I'm too old for that now, anyway. At least with some age comes some wisdom.
Another good rule of thumb to avoid trouble is the old saying "Nothing good ever happens after midnight".

Listen to this man, for he speaketh the trutheth.
HOWEVER. . .
This is a tricky one. The guy was technically safe in his vehicle, and should not have exited. Had the perps tried to enter the vehicle, it would be a good shoot with VERY little argument.
The fact he left his vehicle changes a lot. He could have fled. I think it's a good thing he had the bat and not a firearm, because dropping a couple of those scumbags may have HIM behind bars, as much as I disagree with it.

yeah with him in the car he should of just drove off and although he was assaulted he could of let the law deal with them. once he left the seat of his car he was looking for trouble and im sure can be charged with assault with a deadly weapon even though he was attacked first

In SC, your car boundary is covered under Castle Doctrine just like the walls of your home. Anything that is a threat that comes across that line is fair game. Just like you don't need a carry permit in your home, you don't need one inside your car, either. As long as the gun gets used and remains within that boundary, you don't even need a carry permit. Once you leave the car or your property with a concealable weapon, then you need a carry permit to be legal.
I couldn't see the video, either. It wasn't too hard to put the pieces together after reading the replies that were able to watch the video.
The dude with the bat let his ego take charge when he exited the car to engage.
