I think it would too. Need to finish tweaking the suspension and get my hands on some radials!

I will also gladly run Shawn after I get me some new tyas.
Hoping his new setup runs well. |

Let me make a couple calls to see if I can find some fronts. Never been a fan of the mismatch wheel look. In the mean time. Price, tires center caps, condition, and don't DLs need certain lug nuts?

Well guys I've been really dreading posting this but here goes, my new motor came apart in a big way Monday night. Corey and I were headed over to summerville to get up with Hal and Adam for some roll race action and it let go on the way there on a third gear pull. I'm not sure what went wrong and Im not sure I ever will know for sure but basically the whole thing is scrap. Two broke rods, two broke pistons, fubared crank, cams ruined, one head is damaged and three bent valves. My initial assessment is that the number two rod let loose either because of a clearance issue or an unlikely rod bolt failure. The block is also obliterated. Anyway I thought I'd go on and share this news with you guys. I would appreciate if we could keep negative comments to a minumium I feel bad enough already. The title of this thread couldn't be any truer right now.

I totally feel your pain. I had a fully built brand new motor let go on the track after less than 2 weeks due to a clearance issue. Really sucks now but it's all part of the experience, you'll look back on it in a few years and laugh, and hopefully learn from any mistakes that were made so it will be bigger and better next time.

Here a couple pics of the damage I've uncovered so far.

Damn. That sucks man, all that time and effort.
Feelin your pain right now man, that's a big fear of mine about building a motor. You really just never know. If it was a clearance issue, wouldn't it have reared its ugly head sooner? EDIT: Are those marks on the piston from valves contacting the piston face? |
