I've had horrible luck with the 22r and 22re motors. If you want one dead let me have it for a little while. The 86 turbo truck I had was pretty tough until the turbo blew up, I blew up the 94 I had, I blew up the 92 I had, and I blew a head gasket and broke the timing chain on the 91 I had.......
I want me another 89-94 truck to swap in a ls motor. I met a guy in Savannah that swapped in a 5.3 into his 89 and I love it. It fit o.k., other than the exhaust was really tight, but looks like a lot of fun..... I should have kept my 94 with a 4 inch suspension lift, the first motor lasted about 78k miles, and I swapped in a reman one then sold it to a friend because he brought me about twice what I had in it...... I just found a 93 extended cab with a blown motor that I'm going to look at this weekend if i make it home..... I love those little trucks. |

I remember one shop making over 900rwhp out of a stock shortblock back in 05 or 06.....I doubt it lasted that long, and am sure it wasn't the only one that made that power....
They'll make that power, but after 700 their not gonna be as reliable lol.
There was a Guy a long time ago that made 997hp on a stock lightning, it spit a rod out on the way home. Moral of the story: there's alot of difference between can, and reliable lol. |
Heard the pistons are good up to about 700hp and I assume that's at the flywheel.
Keep the stock motor in the 550 rwhp range with a good tune and they seem to last a looooong time....
I thought he had a built motor in this thing?
The factory built it.:hysterical:
jacob..are you feeling okay bro...or do you have the money
I had heard rumors of built motuhz too. I do know one thing... that fucker needs some different mufflers.
