I got the drivers side downpipe fabbed up. I'll get the passengers side done tonight. The wideband bung isn't in the most ideal place, but I cut up my old downpipe and that's where it was there. The wideband fits, but I'll have to make something to make sure the wires don't get burnt up.

I'm jealous.
This thread makes me want an old car again.

dumb Q, but would the wideband not go before the turbo? IDK, just asking..

Don't know about V8's but I've always run them post-turbo. Supposedly the most accurate reading is within about 12 inches or so of the turbo but not too close or it will prematurely wear out the sensor.

That's the exact spot that it was on my old setup and the wideband never took a dump. I was going to move it, but I'm running out of 3" stainless lol

Got the passenger side downpipe all done. I'll probably have to swing them inward but for now they are done.

Because the pressure in the manifold skews the readings and the heat that gets generated there will wear out the sensor quicker.

Aluminum is much less forgiving when welding. I got the turbos to firewall fabbed up. I also got my driver side seat mounted. I should have started at the v bands and went to the turbos, but did the opposite.

Looking good!

I got some stuff done. I got the brake lines all tightened, made brackets for the rear end and all of the brake lines are mounted and tight. I do have to figure out the push rod for the wilwood master cylinder.

I also got some of the cold side done. I got from the firewall to behind the front seat. I have two 90's to weld on there and the vband and that will be done. Then I can mount the intercooler and then run the piece to the engine.

Thanks, me too!

I got the drivers side wastegate mounted. I got it in better placement than I thought I could get.

I realize this is a old thread. Just had to ask. Are you sure that's a 69? It has a 68 grill. Got a picture of the taillights and the dash? 68 does have vent windows, but that one has plexiglass, so it could go either way.

wade w 11-11-2015 11:29 AM

I did see a glimps of the dash. Looked like a 69.

98Camarod 11-11-2015 06:31 PM

It's definitely a 69. It has a 68 grille. Long over due updates:
