Thanks, Pontiac boy.

I actually thought of yours, Perm, when I saw it. Will likely be removing the pin stripe and the "Mustang" side stripes. Not so sure I like them.

i didnt notice the "mustang" side stripes at first, but yeah, they gotta go.

put some nitrous on it- those things seem to handle it fine. Brandon shot about 60,000 pounds of nitrous through his before it gave up didn't he?

congrats again- i like it.

clubracergt1 12-11-2008 08:38 PM

Yeah, but let's ask him how the trans held up. (Just messin') No power adders right away. Gotta wait for the snake oil to wear off of the internal engine parts and get it all fixed under warranty before I go out and void the piss out of it. Prolly just shifter and gears to start with. Then I'll start getting silly.

don't blame ya- i don't like to give up my warranties either.
speaking of warranty- i need to bring my truck up to you guys soon. at 70mph the truck has some sort of studder, might be the tranny. and i think i have some recalls that haven't been done yet.

Its still sprayable too! I wanna do a maiden voyage 150 shot, but I dont wanna wipe out my re-usable parts!

And FOR THE RECORD, my tranny broke all those times due to aftermarket cables! Stock cable FTMFW

I looked it up, and the car has 3.27s-still slow as dog ballz. Not too bad over 4k RPMs, though. I think it would be very happy with 3.73s, maybe 4.10s. Engine is unmolested, too. Doesn't even sound like the intake silencer is gone.

Other mods will likely include:
Tri-Ax, CAI, underdrives, full exhaust (thinking Pypes), Mach 1 grille delete and chin spoiler, Steeda wing, maybe a supercharger or 125 shot (have an extended warranty to keep happy), and remove the pin stripe. Aside from some much needed (eh, Hal?) sound system work, I can't think of anything else off the top of my head.

Congrats on the car Shaun! Nice to see you back in a mustang man! Intake, full exhaust, 4.10's, and a tune will make it a totally different car man! I'd go with the MGW over the Tri-ax though, I like my MGW so much more than the Tri-ax I had in my GT.

+2 on mgw
Ive heard people in love with the tri ax tho, and the pro 5.0

Chillerman 12-11-2008 11:31 PM

Nice car Shaun. I know you will have fun with it!

slowgreen99 12-11-2008 11:34 PM

Shaun, putting 2 12's in a mustang that body is haaard to fit, especially if it has the mach amp rack

clubracergt1 12-12-2008 07:20 AM

Thanks for the shifter tip, guys. If you don't mind my asking, what did you like about the MGW over the Tri-Ax?

Brandon, the amp rack will be coming out when the system goes in. I still have everything from the BroncoII, save for the head unit. I am just thinking that the 12's will be too much/too big/too heavy. Had 10's in my '05; and loved the shit out of them. they would still be hitting hard, if Hal didn't mess one of the drivers up.

Its time to do a solid to Irs swap, and I think I know someone w/ an IRS

I just havent had an issue with the MGW to complain about. Ive had a cheap "american muscle" short shifter that sucked horribly. I have never had a true tri ax, just a tri ax base with pro 5.0 handle (i know, backwards) and I just think the MGW is smoother. Not being cocky but I never really had any issue with the stock shifter when it comes to hittin the gears, but just got tired of rowin that boat.

I have 2 12's in my car that are in a subzone dual vented box. I just had to bend some metal to get em in, but theyre in there. I had the speakers in box, amp, capacitor, and bottom part of back seat all stacked up on a bathroom scale :hysterical: and it all rang in at 165ish lbs if I remember correctly. That was with the Sony Craplodes though, so im guessin the BMF's are about 4-5 lbs more

The Tri-ax was very notchy and noisey, the MGW is much smoother and quieter.

clubracergt1 12-12-2008 06:17 PM

I actually want noisey and notchy. I like to hear the mechanical noises. This thing's actually too damn quiet. Hell, there isn't even a drone from the exhaust. It's a Mustang, dammit, it should be loud and rough around the edges.
