Or do it once a month. All call outs in by the 15th, and all races happen the 1st weekend of the next month. |

Very true, maybe we can just keep it simple....you drive your car to the track? Plenty of trailers local if somebody breaks, and if it's a "street car" it should have insurance that can tow you if it breaks down. I know I've called roadside assistance from the track before. |
There are already too many stipulations. "50 state legal" ain't going to cut it. You can argue street cars all day long, but if it is tagged, insured and has working lights, and would not get a citation from the police, it would be a street car in South Carolina, which is where we live and race.
If you want classes, make it cars and trucks. If you want to avoid the list becoming stagnant like it has become, invert or shuffle the field every six months or yearly. That way the fastest car has no guarantee of staying on top, especially without ever racing a single race. |
+1 if you won't get a citation on the street = street car.

#2 your proposed incentive looks good #3 for the initial list draw names from a hat or do something to make it random. After that point everyone has to race to get there standings. The main thing that needs to be stressed for this list to be successful is racing and having fun. Once it turns into a shit slinging, dick measuring contest all hope is lost. Based on your suggestions and pending my car being finished i would like to take place in something like this. |
How about $20 bet per race and you take $10 of it stick it in a pot for the end of the season. That means the winner broke even for the race $15 track entry - $15 in gas equals the $30 you win. Then at the end of the season who ever won the most races whens the pot. If we have 40 races the pot would be $400.

oh yeah. x2 on the strippers:hysterical:

I still think 20 per race may be too much. But it may work. |
I also think that the owner of the vehicle drive his or her car/truck.
|
pending my transmission actually working I'll try and get in on this action before we get sent else where. But for the 50 state legal thing, that's just not going to happen. I say make two lists, one for registered vehicles with insurance and another for race cars.

Maybe Ill put the SLK on the 50 state legal list and the L on the race car list.

I won't pay to be on a list. I go to the track to race and see how well the truck does. I don't grudge race or race for money. my gate fee is good enough. but doesn't matter anyway since the blazer is a turtle. :) I go to the track to have fun. once money is involved the fun ends.

I spend enough money I dont have on this hobby to go betting more money I dont have on it. If others want to bet money on my truck by all means feel welcome but thats not how I roll. BTW I think Derrick(sp?) and I have had the most successful TDL races on here and none of them involved money. |
just post the final decision of what it will consist of. i can really read all this stuff and understand it so just clarify once it is decided! Thanks
|
i might pay a small fee once but i won't pay each race. you are already out 15 to get in the gate plus fuel to get there. besides money would take the fun out of it anyway, always does.

I dont think there will be much participation with the one time fee thing personally. If somebody calls me out then I probably want waste the time to come if the end prize is a $100 gift card at walmart. I just want go to the track two weeks and I will have my $100 to spend at walmart.I still think we should have a CHP bracket race with a small buy in and if you breake out then you can buy back in once if you want.
|
I've never been involved with a TDL that money was tied to and will not start now. You want money to be involved in races? Well thats where th e grudge section and budget grudge section is all about NOT the TDL. TDL should be for fun. Grudge racing sections should be for all the smack talk and money races.
