Whats it like? Incline & decline?

Its not bad at all. It's crowded but nothing horrible. Lots of costumes and general goofiness. The run to the start of the bridge is pretty easy and there were a few bands playing on the side of the road so that made it even more intertaining.

Once you hit the bottom of the bridge thats when people slow down and you start bobbing and weaving fuckers left and right. The incline is alot steeper than one would think just by driving over it. But just keep a steady pace, which at times might seem impossible due to the vast amount of "runners" who walk up the entire incline of the bridge. I did have to stop running but kept a good pace walking for 5 minutes and then pushing thru for 5 minutes. Yeah I was/am way out of shape but felt that running the bridge is something everyone should do atleast once. Plus my wife had a shit load of her peers from her sqaudron all meet there and they had already ran 3 5ks and another 10k as a group preparing for the bridge.

The decline...not what you think. I felt that once I hit the crest that I would just cadillac all the way down. NOT. To me the decline was just as difficult as the incline but when I used to run I would always try and look as far ahead as I can and focus on an object and push it till I got there. Looking down the bridge could be a bit demoralizing for some as you can see exactly how much further you have..lol

Overall it was a great experience that I hope I can do again one day..Get there really early, dont forget your ipod. Drinks are plentiful and all the free food and shit at the end of the race is a nice plus. We all went for drinks and then rode all the buses back across the bridge. Some people say you should take two cars and park one downtown the night before. We had no problem getting back and getting out of traffic. Downtown was a mess and I would have hated to fight that traffic..

Wear some comfortable broken in shoes! I saw quite a few people without shoes towards the end of the race most with popped blisters and just a overall bloody mess down there..lol

Hope this gave you some sort of insight as to what it was like. I'm sure you will have fun and not need to visit one of the many amberlampse they have stationed all through the race.
