s14.5gonewide 10-15-2009 01:33 PM

last night was ehhh.... im not really into it...
the keep acting like kimbo is comming back.. marketing is a bish..

Magoo 10-15-2009 01:54 PM

Last nights fight was dissapointing again, Wes Sims put up zero fight. The takedown was downright pitiful, then didn't even try to fight the choke. I'll give it to him that he didn't tap and went to sleep, I will say that Justin looked decent. He moved in for the arm triangle pretty quickly.

///Mcompact 10-25-2009 05:28 AM

Machida pulling out the decision? FUCKING BULLSHIT!

Was Cecil Peeples judging another fight or something. I guess the judges don't count leg strikes for some reason?

I like both fighters, but it wasn't even close. Waiting for the Compustrike to be posted. ***EDIT** http://fightmetric.com/fights/Machida-Shogun.html

Shogun totally WORKED Machida. This one is quickly going down as one of the most bullshit decisions in the MMA history. Right up there with:

-Matt Hamill vs. Bisping
-Nick Diaz's beat down of Gomi (later overturned to no conteste because of smoking weed? WTF?).
-Aoki vs. JZ I (and a very questionable ref timeout during Aoki vs. Hansen III)

The internet is blowing up big time with this one, and rightfully so.

I was pulling for Machida to win but he didn't win last night. It was Rua's fight and it was taken away from him. I am not sure how but they got that fight wrong. If Rua did "win" it would be a good fight with him and Silva. I would like to see that fight. :bigthumb:

House Special 11-23-2009 08:48 PM

Anybody catch the 106 card? I was pretty disappointed with the Koscheck/Johnson fight. Shenanigans I tell ya. The phantom eye poke that supposedly came from the phantom knee did it all.

s14.5gonewide 11-23-2009 09:00 PM

no i went to beef's to watch.. they decided to not pay for the fight so i was sol

House Special 11-23-2009 09:12 PM

Didn't mean to give away any spoilers if you didn't see it. Apparently a lot of people in the area weren't showing it. I had to go to Kickin Chicken in Summerville. I'll give it a week or so for people to catch it.

ForceFed4g63 11-23-2009 09:45 PM

I didn't watch the fight but read the play by play. Seemed like a good match with no hard feelings at the end, I was personally happy with the outcome.

///Mcompact 11-24-2009 11:57 AM

Yeah...at first it looked like he knee'd him in the right eye. Then he got up clutching his left eye and I was like WTF? After about 5 different angles on the knee shot, it was finally revealed that the knee hit his arm and it was some bogus finger that *might* have grazed his eye? Dunno...there were too many eye pokes and groin strikes on that card.

Little Nog looked great against a very timid Luiz Cane. Looks like we have another contender in the LHW division. He's has about 80% of the ground game as his brother (which is still better than most) but has better hands.

Rua
Machida
Wanderlei
Little Nog
Thiago Silva
Rampage
Rashad (hate that dude)
Griffin

House Special 11-25-2009 10:05 AM

lol, what's there to hate about Rashad? He's a bobblehead yes, but it's entertaining.

Your list is about right, considering Rua should be champ right now. I swear sometimes UFC has some WWE shit going on.

s14.5gonewide 12-05-2009 07:48 PM

fight tonight at 9 live4 on spike.

http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=Even....home&eid=2465

kimvo is fighting.

s14.5gonewide 12-06-2009 12:59 PM

so kimbo won but that was a weak win... i really think it was semi staged... the guys the opponent had fought were no slouch and he worked allot harder... maybe its dana whites way of getting a controversial fighter/internet phenom such as kimbo in the ufc... but wow it looked like a pre set fight.

House Special 12-13-2009 08:41 PM

I didn't catch the show but I can find it online.

Anyone see the fights last night? I knew Cheik Kongo was gonna lose but not so quickly. I was surprised how badly Diego Sanchez got owned.

Side note: Clay Guida needs to get off the PCP and learn how to strike.

s14.5gonewide 10-20-2010 09:27 PM

i hope lesnor gets rocked this weekend.

Finally got to see the Shane Carwin fight and Shane put an ass wippin on him. I think Brocks chin is suspect and if Cain gets a good one on him I think he can end it. Cain needs to keep it standing up cuz I don't think he has the strength to roll with Brock like I think Carwin could.

Whatever happens, I think Shane has another shot at the title.

s14.5gonewide 10-21-2010 02:02 PM

i agree shane could have ended it first round.

brock has 1 thing his mass once he is on you u cant do anything.
and the fact his hands are like lunch boxes.

from the shane fight im not exactly sure if brock has a glas jaw or not. he got rocked by what seemed like average jaw shots(but it could have been ring rust)

i havnt seen much on valasquez he dosnt look like he has the octagon presence/size as shane or lesnor..but we will see on that as well.

any thoughts on a mir rematch? or if mir will fight again?

any ideas on the koschec and gsp?

I think Mir will fight again, but I think his mass building program has hurt his speed so until he can get that back, he won't be a threat to very many. I think he should have gone down a class to light -heavy instead of trying to bulk up.

As far as the Koscheck vs. GSP... I think GSP is a stud and I don't know if Koscheck has anything for him. I think Kos has an edge in the stand-up and sheer aggression, but I think he under estimates GSP's skill.

My favorite fight so far was watching Dan Hardy getting his bell rung by Chris(?) Condit! That dude is the real deal! I like Dan Hardy so I was shocked when Condit put the lights out.

Audie1 10-21-2010 11:44 PM

I think that Brock will take the win this weekend...........Would love to see Brock and Fedor fight. Fedor beating Brock would stop Dana White from talking smack about him...........too bad Fedor is not in the UFC. Looks like Fedor is going to sign another 5 or 6 fight contract with Strike Force....

s14.5gonewide 10-22-2010 01:12 AM

ive been scowering the mma boards..

i havnt really gotten into the whole cross mma/fighters or what if battles... but id love to see uria faber spelling... in the ufc i think it would be a step up...

i looked into the mir question. and well he has not been sceduled 4 anything anytime soon.he is doing some mma promo stuff with lawenforcment and sit down/shows/talks but no actual fights. i do agree him bulking up hurt him as he was quick and it deffantly made him more stand up which he is but needs to be more agil to be himself.

as for the lesnor.. err i want him to loose but abuncho f the regular analysts or guys who evaluate fighters and do big brakedowns of them have lensnor on top.. and thats 90% of them... once it goes to the ground its all lesnor.. id love to see a major upset... i was really hoping shane had it in him..

one of the big talkes was how if the shane/lesnor fight was not a title it would have been called as lesnor was not defending and was getting hit repeatedly with no sign of concious defense.. but again it is a title fight so they make them fight thru. still wish lesnor would have gotten beat.

i normally like koschek spelling agn..... but i dont think he has much if anything for gsp.

the hmmel/tito fight looks like its stacking up well... im torn....

we need another rampage, evans fight. with rampage rocking out.

ElecTech 10-22-2010 09:57 AM

Some black on black crime!

I was disappointed in the last Rashaad/Rampage fight. I thought it would be closer.

I really enjoyed watching Machida take Rashaad apart. Rashaad is one you like to see get his ass handed to him because he is so arrogant. Just like Tito.

Unfortunately, I think Tito will take Hammel apart. I have never been real impressed with Hammel, even though he has been winning.

+1
.........Great Thoughts.......I agree.......I thought they should have stopped the Lesner/Carwin fight before the second round started...........Carwin is a Beast...........but he is a one round wonder because of his cardio........IMO.

Lesnar vs Cain Fight Video

Wow........looks like I was wrong.......Lesnar took at Beating. See video below, scroll down to the second video. The first vid is not very clear.

http://mmafightvideosonline.blogspot...uez-fight.html

Sean 10-24-2010 08:55 AM

video is gone

ElecTech 10-24-2010 09:01 AM

VIVA LA CAIN!

Videos are still up at MMA-Core.com

Cain did good to stay off his back. I knew if he kept it standing he had a good shot. I felt after the Carwin fight that Lesnor's chin was suspect against a good striker.

I think this sets up a re-match for Lesnor/Carwin for a shot at the title.

I'm glad Tito got his ass kicked and I thought Court McGee looked much better than in his Ultimate Fighter fight.

jmd 10-24-2010 09:31 AM

wow, lesnor got his ass beat.

Harry 10-24-2010 10:04 AM

Glad to see Lesnor get knocked off his horse.

s14.5gonewide 10-24-2010 05:02 PM

...after a rough little moment there at the beggining where Lesner had Velasquez pinned standing up next to the cage, Velasquez found seperation and just went to work on Lesner with his much better strikes.

Lesner's inexperienced showed against a tough Velasquez who's got real skill.

The shots were shaking Lesner and once Velasquez took him to the ground, poor Brock was left just to cover up and take a pounding.
Lesner was completely outclassed tonight.

hell ya doggie... the card of upsets... tito lost. lesnor.. major upsets were ap lenty.. on th mma talk forums.

ElecTech 11-01-2010 02:16 PM

Rampage vs. Machida

If we see the Machida that fought against Evans, I think Rampage will get taken apart. He is too slow. I would like to see it though.

Thoughts?

s14.5gonewide 11-07-2010 02:04 PM

its going to be a good fight either way. the last one went a fairly long time 2 rounds iirc and was 2min in till evans got rubber legged. i think it could go either way both can bang on their feet altho i think machida has a bit more patience and can gauge his range better might even be smarter about swinging. machinda has good ground but we havenot seen evens on the ground much when you do tho he is decent(4 the amount of time)
idk id like to see evans get knocked out with the quickeness i just have a odd feeling about this one evans has something to prove idk....

i was really looking forward to fedor vs lesnor but it looks likes that fight is 2+ years out.. fedor signed with strike force and has some type of 3 fight contract.. it may be a 1 year contrack idk id havet o go re look it all up. i think by the time this fight happens if it does lesnor will be prepaired.. lesnor is new and well is only getting better.

the mir/lesnor fight may happen again mir had a web show/interview and it was a big part of the interview taked about what he did wrong ect ect.

kimbo got fired from ufc.. it was bound to happen but thats why u havn't herd or seen a thing from him. lost to manyfights

this years ultimate fighter sux.. it makes me hate kioschec or want to see him get tore appart every fight. oh well.

Machida is fighting Quentin "Rampage" Jackson, not Rashaad Evans. But you get a B for effort.

If Mir fights Lesnor again, he needs to keep it standing up until the later rounds. Take a page out of Cain's playbook and get up as soon as you can if Lesnor takes you down. I think he'll be less overwhelming in later rounds.

Kimbo is too slow and has a bad wheel. Plus, I think when he is forced to think too much, he freezes up. Too bad to cuz he seems like a cool guy. I almost feel bad for him.

Would have been fun to watch Kos punch the medic out though.

wow i thought it was a rematch with evans and machida..

in that case rashad will get rocked. he hasn't fought in a hot minute.. and when he did he had ring rust. when machida/evans fought evans was a major contender traning fighting ect ect.. machinda is still in the top where rashad is not.

lesnor if he was a smaller frame and not such a huge presence would be nothing. he dosnt have much to his game minus his physical size and that he can lay on u like a rug. this has been proven a few times. everyone will make a mistake in a fight thats the name of the game..

i just felt bad for kimbo... he was really a stand up guy who was legit and not (randy moss ish) i really figured him to be arrogent and smug.. completely diffrent.

what about the faber fight comming up.. man im all about him doing work..

s14.5gonewide 11-09-2010 12:45 AM

http://www.mmaconvert.com/cards/ufc-...ckets-results/

only 2 of the fights look good.

the co main event
rampage vs mach
bj penn vs matt hug

how did rampage get that fight lol he has yet to fight in a year... or so it seems.

not a fan of bj penn i hope he looses but i think matt hughs is outdated.. so yea...

ElecTech 11-09-2010 08:58 AM

I like BJ Penn. I enjoyed watching him take Diego Sanchez apart. That is someone I can't stand. I think BJ has a good shot against Matt. Matt hasn't looked that good in his last few fights.

I think the last fight that Rampage had was against Evans in England and he got worked all night. He was way to slow for Evans. That's why I think Machida will wear him out. I think this is a step down fight for Machida, but could be a money generator for UFC.

What happened to Shogun? is he still champ? I haven't seen him fight since he one the belt.
