You are not playing around. It would take me damn near 20 years to do what you have done in the last 3 months.

Looking good.

Never thought I would say this... but... sbm=baller ;)

schardbody 03-08-2012 03:49 PM

Looking good. The factory crossmember should be able to be used with a little modifying.

Yessir, threw this together this afternoon. Nothing fancy but I think it came out pretty decent. Might add some gussets later if needed.

shawn if your running solid mounts on the motor you need a rubber mount on tranny. i found that it helps for it to have a little give when torque is applied.dont break so much stuff.

Ya know Ive been reading alot of contradicting info on this. Some say all solid or all urethane or all rubber some say solid on the motor urethane on the tranny.... Makes my head hurt. I know my red car was 100% solid and I had no issues. That being said youll notice the rubber bushings at the end of the cross member. I had made those solid on the red car but I think Im gonna leave the rubber in this one. That will allow it to move around a little. Mind you all this is just to get the car up and driving. I plan to get up with my buddy King and build a custom crossmember that will mount to the subframe connectors later on.

FWIW, I run a motor plate and a urethane transmission mount. Seems to work great.

Chillerman 03-08-2012 10:56 PM
