Super cool build man, keep at her!

Cool to see you decided to stick with it after your misfortune.

Anyone know where I can get my water pump milled down the thickness of the motor plate? |
Can you post some pic's of the motor and interior of the Chevy 2 :bigthumb:

That's where this plate holds the motor. I'd rather not get an electric pump since I already have the mechanical pump |

I got the brakes bled, which I thought was going to be a nightmare but there are no leaks! I have all AN stainless lines. I used the Eastwood vice flaring tool. I also welded in a new bung for the Holley wideband. Which was indeed a nightmare. During my welding I had a plug in there to not distort the bung. Well, there were several distractions and I didn't move the plug after each weld and it ended up screwing up several of the bottom threads. Luckily the wideband doesn't use them and it was a big bitch to get it out. I ran a thread chaser down it and all is well now. I cleaned up some of the wiring and put caps on wires that I won't be using immediately. I cut out a portion of the motor plate for my alternator and need to mount that still as well as fab up a tensioner and idler pulley setup.
If anyone has the door rear guide upper mounting plates and doesn't need them, I would gladly buy them. I cannot find them any where! Still alot left to do, but I'm getting closer. I have to figure out the electric fan wiring with the Holley, make a shifter mount, hook up the shifter, install driveshaft, install alternator, make the tensioner/idler setup, get the correct size belt, do something with the coolant vents, some sort of PCV setup, throttle cable, get a pedal, get seats, make mounts, parachute release, figure something out with the door glass, install the door panels, cranks, and armrests, test the wiring to make sure this bitch doesn't burn down, check for fuel leaks, setup the Holley system, and I'm sure there's more. http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ps0o8siokh.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...psgdz52re5.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ps17znggsa.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...psbvxvvuyw.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ps5gy8gaqg.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...pstqmnupli.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...psss45m0kq.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...pszxtkpswe.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...psf2txu3xz.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...pso87hujuk.jpg I also picked these front wheels up to match the rears: http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...psqd10hcg4.jpg |
Nice!
LMK if you need some help with the fan wiring, i can bring a few boxes of toy's up, and we can do it up right. |
how hard is it to work on this one with the other one sitting there.

Thanks, I'll probably end up doing it later today at some point. I've got some left over 30amp relays that I hope will be sufficient. |

I got what I think is ok, an alternator mount. I cut the original truck bracket so it wouldn't interfere with the motor plate and then cut the other ears off to allow for adjustability. I also made the smooth pulley a ribbed pulley. The alternator is in the way of how I had my fuel line routed, so I had to order a 90 3/8 npt fitting to clear the alternator. I mounted and wired up my tach/shiftlight combo from my old car. Then I got a pair of relays ready for fan wiring.

The build is coming along nicely. Newbie question here- are there any issues with running boost pipes through the interior? I've seen it done before but was curious about it.
There looked like there was room for an air to air FMIC in front of the radiator. It is hard to tell from the pictures though. |
