Ive been pulled over twice in the past year for a headlight out in two seperate vehicles, both of which have dark tint. Nothing was said about it either time. Then again i do roll my windows down pretty quickly. Both times I was pulled over were at night btw.

Had a story on our local news a while back about the Ware Shoals police department getting 2 tint checkers and how many people had been cited already. I shit you not.

Maybe you should teach Mr. Cop Catnip a few of your Jedi LE Mind Tricks.

It will probably save the future Mrs. Cop Catnip from some late night calls and early morning bond hearings.

Tint laws are bullshit (period) and you know it. Its revenue enhancement and nothing more. Same as the seatbelt laws. They dont give a damn about your saftey its just more money for the state/county.

You are crazy if you think that being able to see into a vehicle is not safer than not being able to see in. I really don't get how you can argue that? If they can't see anything until they get all the way to your open window, that clearly gives you an advantage. It starts long before that anyway- knowing how many people are in the car is important too.

Guess I better not put that 40% on my windshield anytime soon. NCPD is out to get us all! I saw a helicopter outside of my place last night too... maybe I can hide in the shipping container Joe just burried in his back yard while "clearing trees".

My windshield is tinted. When it was 35% on my dodge, I got pulled over 3 times in 2 years for window tint. My current truck is 50% on the windshield and I haven't had any problems. You can't really see in it all that well, but it's not as obvious as the 35% was. How dark it looks depends on how dark your other windows are too, and the color of your interior.

Its the way it is, If someone has the intent of killing you they're gonna do it and could give 2 shits about tint in whatever shitbox their driving. Its a sad excuse to pull someone over or ticket them.

There needs to be a new billboard on I26 that says guns dont kill people, gangs dont kill people, drugs dont kill people.

People with tinted windows and taillights do.

My windows are legal,I literally have to keep paperwork in my vehicles because of getting pulled over by troopers, Havent got a ticket because I can show stickers and paperwork that its legal, but the douches still pull me over. Why is that? Revenue............

There is a big difference between factory tint and what I am talking about. You can see straight through factory tint, especially when the big light on the cop car is shining into the vehicle. Or with a flashlight when approaching. The tint I am talking about is tint like my truck. Even with my drivers side window down, in the middle of the day, with the sun glaring straight in- an officer wouldn't be able to see jack shit until he got all the way to my window and leaned in. At that point, he is 100% exposed if I was a threat. How can you say that tint isn't an officer safety issue? You can say it's to generate revenue if you want, maybe it is, I don't know- but to argue that it doesn't make it any less safe is ridiculous.

I will admit that a lack of window tint would not help you see this gun:

My opinion is its my damn car if I want black windows it should be my choice.

dkbmxer002 03-27-2013 09:50 AM

They should allow dark tint based on your criminal record and with a good driving record.

DIGGLER 03-27-2013 10:08 AM

seems like the cop would simply tell you to exit the vehicle if he felt threatened by not being able to see into the car?

To carry it a step further, its my damn life and if I dont want to wear a seatbelt it should be my choice.

x2...The problem with tint isnt a safety issue thats just a fuckin excuse to make it a law...The problem with tint is porky can't see in your car to see if you look like the usual suspect!

adamcs 03-27-2013 11:27 AM

I am glad I don't have these problems

MARTYROBBINS 03-27-2013 11:32 AM

ok so how about a work van with no windows or a box truck ?
I personaly could care lees if i get a tint ticket ill pay it and move on i do however roll all my windows down turn the truck off and keep my hands on the wheel untill the officer gets to the window

MARTYROBBINS 03-27-2013 11:34 AM

and as for the seatbelt i can jump on my bike and haul ass down i26 with my helmet strapped to the side its my choice to not wear it but i have to put on a seatbelt in my fucking 3.5 ton truck wtf

dkbmxer002 03-27-2013 11:39 AM

I agree the seatbelt shouldn't be a required law over 18 or 21. But I will still wear mine absolutely every time I'm driving

BigdaddyDupree 03-27-2013 12:09 PM

I wrecked a vehicle about 6 years ago where the tie rod snapped and truck went end over end. i was not wearing a setbelt at the time and it put me in the floor and there was a piece of metal trim from the inside that was stuck threw my seat. I came out with glass in my head and a sore shoulder. To this day i dont wear a seatbelt for that very reason, the cop even told me that if i was strapped in i wouldnt have made it.
