Selepack Detailing Storefront

We're looking into opening up an actual location possibly in the next few months. Trying to get some feedback on the idea. More than likely it will be located in Summerville.

slowgreen99 02-02-2012 03:30 PM

are you moving to svl?

"it's like they PUT DIRT ON the car"

FWIW, I think it would do well

CACTUS is too far away for me to drive to after work, and i will NOT go to the mall area on weekends.

cactus should take ~45 minutes, whether good or (i would say ~5% of my washes have not been good)

and Splish Splash is a last resort. takes ~hour, ~50% of my washes have been bad (they vacuum at the start, then get it to clean interior)

YMMV, but I say DO IT.

it's much easier to do it, and live with failing, than to REGRET stuff.

do it.

MARTYROBBINS 02-02-2012 04:43 PM

do it need to find a place without ex-cons to clean my cars

Silver-Dollar 02-02-2012 04:59 PM

If appointment only stuff, maybe a shop back off Peppermill Parkway (behind Stokes VW, across from Mazda).

Carlrx7 02-02-2012 05:52 PM

keep it mobile

x2

I'd be much more likely to get the services done if it were mobile than driving all the way to Summerville.

x3. And its less overhead.

Matts94Z28 02-02-2012 06:02 PM

We will still be mobile. The offer that has been placed on the table is excellent, to say the least. We already make enough profit to cover the overhead witout a doubt. This location would not be a carwash, it would be a place to do the high end paint corrections and interior repair, by appointment of course.

Matts94Z28 02-02-2012 06:06 PM

The location itself should provide more exposure, theoretically. There will be more than one service offered as well.

However, I do agree the money is in mobile work, as people like the ease of not having to travel.

We have gotten to the point to where we need to take the next step and jump into this full time.

1998ta__1991rs 02-02-2012 06:35 PM

The Mobile side isnt going anywhere, and like matt said we're already making enough money to cover the overhead of the shop.

WWhittle 02-02-2012 07:07 PM

From what you described, this is probably a car stereo shop, probably does window tint too? If so, it sounds like a good idea.

none of the above, lol, but there is another automotive based business there

csikx 02-02-2012 07:29 PM

Trolley Road? The old Johnny's? or did you say Main Street (17A)?

Good idea, by the way.

Does Zac still have his enclosed? Maybe offer pick up/drop off service for several day paint restoration jobs. Need to get insurance for it though. Which I hope you have (errors and omissions type) for accidental corrections.

There are a ton of shops that have bay doors in the back in every area of town. If Mt.P was so far and conjested, it would be a good place. (money, busy and lazy folks with high dollar cars).

It sounds like you two partners have already decided after others offered their opinion, so go for it.

chrisheltra 02-02-2012 08:29 PM

I want the job of the guy who get the cars dirty.

k5hart 02-02-2012 08:31 PM

Sounds like a no brainer to open up a place if your doing that good with the mobile side. I imagine major correction work would be easier to do inside your own location. Good luck with it. My Silverado need a good correction so I may visit you when you get it open.
