SPEEDING

Well had a good time a the track lastnight a the track had a bad time on the way home got my first speeding ticket in 10years doing 74 in a 65 on i26 at collage park exit . the trooper was cool though and gave me my ticket fast and did not make me sit there all night i did however have to put the windows down and ride for about a 1/4 mile to clear the truck out

admission to the track = $0

gas to get there = $10

price to get home = $81.50 and 2 points

chrisheltra 02-27-2012 01:01 PM

Ouch sorry to hear that. Im glad I dont pass college park or he would have popped me too.

blubyu87gt 02-27-2012 01:28 PM

Ask the judge to give you a careless operation. Same monetary charge but drops the points and insurance reporting.

MARTYROBBINS 02-27-2012 01:32 PM

careless operation is 4 points to allstate they dont care if the dmv don't apply points so i will live with the 2 points i guess and take a driving course for pussy's to get them reduced i don't think is is worth fighting even though this will now be the only thing on a otherwise perfect driving record i think a lawyer would be more and i hate going to court hell i might send someone else to go pay it

chrisheltra 02-27-2012 01:35 PM

I always go to court because they will generally cut the points in half if over 2 points and will cut the fine in half.

MARTYROBBINS 02-27-2012 01:39 PM

yea but the $40 is not worth the half a days pay i would lose to go to court hell i can take the driving course for like $80 and get a 4 point reduction i wonder if you keep the extra 2 for credit

ForceFed4g63 02-27-2012 01:48 PM

If you go to court and plead guilty 9 times out of 10 they will lower your fine but not drop the points.

Careless Operation is a municipality / county offense so Troopers cannot write CO tickets.

Allstate is the worst insurance company on the planet, but a single 2 point violation should not ding you if you have a clean 3 year record.

You are correct, it would not be cost effective to hire a lawyer to fight an Under 10 ticket.

MARTYROBBINS 02-27-2012 01:59 PM

yea i know allstate sucks i had geico but when i bought the jeep they wanted way to much money and i have had bad experance with the "cheap" company's i am a firm beliver in you get what you pay for

oh well next time i will make it worth getting pulled over

98Blackbird 02-27-2012 02:40 PM

Who wrote the ticket? Yacobozzi?

MARTYROBBINS 02-27-2012 02:51 PM

don't remember i will get the ticket when i go home and look i put it on the frididater so everyone could see

$81.50 and 2 points is the lowest fine and points. Don't take a day off to waste time in court. Sorry you got busted man.

I like Horry Co tickets much better than Charleston Co. I didnt go to court for the one I got in Mt. Pleasant just went and paid the fine. My Horry Co ticket(s) were a lot higher fines and had points. If you get a ticket here, when you go to court (everyone does) you HOPE you get the guy judge. He will drop the points if you pay the fine. The female judge will stick it to you. LUCKILY I have gotten the guy for both of my Horry Co. tickets and only had to pay the reduced fines.

bwelch 02-28-2012 11:45 AM

I got a ticket one time in Georgia. When I called in to see about mailing them a payment they asked me if I wanted to plead guilty. I said yes and they cut it in half on the phone. To bad all police departments dont do this. It would save alot of time and money.

That's not being a pussy...that's a pain in the ass money saver from hell. With tickets every ten years...you should take it every single time!

If you go this route my advice is to always, always send a quick letter to go with your payment stating you wish to plead guilty, outlining who you talked to and the agreed upon fine amount.

Keep a copy. Never rely on a phone conversation, especially when dealing with a ticket in another state.

cfcobalt 02-28-2012 01:19 PM

You think thats bad? I got a $1000+ noise ordinance violation ticket in N Chas back in the late 90's.

LadyInRed 02-28-2012 01:54 PM

That sucks. Did they knock it down to 74 in a 65 for the lower ticket, or were you really going 74?

I got stopped on I-95 in Summerton once for 86 in a 70. Officer told me if I'd been going 70-79mph, he would have let me keep going. Didnt knock it down so I ended up with the 4 point ticket, had to go to court and get it dropped to the $81 2 pointer like you got. Also have Allstate and never saw an increase because of the 2pt one.

:hysterical:

Army recruiter took care of the noise ordinance ticket, but the Army admissions office wouldn't let me in since I couldn't hear the beeps in my headphones unless they turned them up real loud.

I got pulled over once and got a ticket for noise ordinance, window tint, no proof of insurance. It was my birthday and I still got $2000+ worth of tickets. What a dick! I did an ass of community service...

The funny thing is the cop who gave me the tickets came and ate where I worked at a month or two later....

The funny thing is I didn't do a damn thing to his food. I just kept watch him eat and when he would look over I would give him a little smirk. I just can't do something to somebody that I wouldn't want done to me. I can't say I didn't think about it doing it.

Carlrx7 02-28-2012 10:06 PM

going through the front gate when i was in tech school (Sheppard afb, tx), the guard liked how my car sounded, (pos ford probe), he told me to rev it up, burn out and take off.. i followed orders.. lol

Back in the day maybe 7 years ago we use to meet up at the end of Ashley and Dorchester. I did a burnout there and got pulled over. Cop told me NEVER to show my face there again....I said NEVER?...He goes....3 weeks! Done!
