Hot Damn Bo Gator!

Drove the freak out to the Chessa tonight and got another new best. Previous best was a 7.75 at 94....

Here is the new'un.

Lol the MPH is approaching what the red car used to trap running 6.60's on a 150 shot. Me thinks she's gonna ride out on a 150 shot.

Matts94Z28 06-25-2012 12:21 AM

Skrong mph.

ShawnBoyMoody 06-25-2012 12:24 AM

I also raced the black conv. Cobra tonight. Gave him the head up break. He GG. Good sport about it though. Davey gapped him with the GN as well lol.

Qwik_Sn95 06-25-2012 12:38 AM

You think theres more left in the 60ft? I know a Tbrake would help for sure.

ShawnBoyMoody 06-25-2012 12:41 AM

It needs some work down low for sure. Dead hooking, I just think the converter is too tight. I've been offered a looser convertor to try and I may take him up on the offer since its just a few hours labor to swap it out.

Qwik_Sn95 06-25-2012 12:43 AM

Yea I was going to say a looser converter but figured a brake would also help. MPH is there just need to get it out the hole.

shts_weak 06-25-2012 12:44 AM

Congrads!

ShawnBoyMoody 06-25-2012 12:47 AM

Yeah just swapped in a new TCI reverse manual valvebody, but the money just wasnt there for the trans brake version. It's hell being poor.

I hear you. It's tough.

Chillerman 06-25-2012 12:52 AM

Good job Shawn! Your getting that car to ride out pretty good man.:bigthumb:

ShawnBoyMoody 06-25-2012 12:54 AM

Thanks Will. We trying, and having a blast with it too!

Chillerman 06-25-2012 12:55 AM

I know you are. Just keep at it. You will get it where you want it soon enough.

schardbody 06-25-2012 01:08 AM

damn that car traps high for the ET, 60' is killing you without a doubt.

you'd be in the 6s with more stall and a brake.

You think so? Hmmmm. Now accepting donations to the get shawnboy in the sixes fund lol.

ShawnBoyMoody 06-25-2012 01:12 AM

If that bish went a 6.99 on motor I'd dance a jig.

Qwik_Sn95 06-25-2012 01:30 AM

Im actually doing a LQ4 into a SN95 for a friend. Were shooting for 6.9999999 on motor.

1 Slow Z 06-25-2012 02:28 AM

My old red car ran the 1/8 at 7.5 @ 92 mph with a 1.50 60' time. I would say your mph is high and your 60' has room for improvement. Tough to say its all in the convertor, could be tires, suspension, or launch RPM's. Just my .02

-Mike

jmd 06-25-2012 04:52 AM

congrats.

MonteC 06-25-2012 07:30 AM

HYHD. If my car ran that number id be happy!

I think its in the converter or just not enough ass in general. Tried every possible launch rpm from pushing the car through the lights to leaving from a dead idle. The car is dead hooking and bogging the motor so I'm thinking a looser converter would get the car into the power band quicker. If you listen to the car when I leave you'd swear I shot it out past the 60 ft mark. It comes on that hard. Of course I'm sure the rear suspension needs some adjustments as well. Rear-end is sitting kinda crooked in the car just havent had time to fool with it yet. FWIW my red car 60 ft'd about the same as this un on motor with a nitrous converter but went 1.35's on a 150 shot. I guess its tough to have it both ways...

Harry 06-25-2012 07:44 AM

Congrats.

schardbody 06-25-2012 08:21 AM

That baby ls motor needs 4000+ stall to get moving good, but if you plan on shooting it keep it where its at and work on other areas, or just plan on swapping converters again when you start spraying.

ForceFed4g63 06-25-2012 08:26 AM

Damn good work Shawn! Car is coming together very nicely!

1iron 06-25-2012 08:40 AM

Just Choot it.

Darryl Buckner 06-25-2012 09:19 AM

Got alot of MPH. My blue car runs 7.50's on a 1.50 to 1.53 60' and I only trap 88 to 89 MPH. But your car seem to be running good..:bigthumb:

That will loosen it up some...

chrisheltra 06-25-2012 10:20 AM

You aint never gonna beat WBR with a reaction time like that. :)

ShawnBoyMoody 06-25-2012 10:29 AM

I really need address some things before I put a kit on it. Good thing too cause I cant afford a kit right now. My torque boxes arent welded up yet and Id really like to redo my subframe connectors. Its also gonna need some bigger tires, these 255's probably arent gonna cut it. Add the fact that I highly doubt this is a nitrous converter in the car (no anti balloon plates) and you can see why Im in no hurry to shoot it. I think Im just gonna keep piddling with the all motor setup. If Luckie will let me feel that bigger converter Ill give it a whirl and see if we cant whittle those 60 ft times down.

ShawnBoyMoody 06-25-2012 10:31 AM

Lol. Tru, but it aint me its the car. I told it to go and it just sat there.
