Orangeburg Dragway tech sticker on the fork. I think this is the same guy that has what appears to be a modified junior dragster with a beetle motor..

Carolina didn't have the boards on... it looked meh quick...

It ain't nothing super fast. I ran in the same motorcycle class as him at orange burg one time. He has some weird delay box contraption hooked up to a air cylinder to control the clutch lever. One of them guys that just think too hard on shit
|
I'd like to drive it. I love 2 strokes.

I fgn LOVE the sound of a 2-stroke engine............. I miss that sound at the Supercross events..... Nothing sweeter than a 2-stroke in the powerband.
I had a built ATC-250R and a stroked ATC-200X and I can still hear that 2-stroke; sweetest sound ever out of an offroad dirtbike engine! http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...pse10ff3e1.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...pse331ad71.jpg |

For fun we used to street race ATV's on the weekends that the tracks weren't open..... I used to love bustin' the Quadracer 500's and Banshee's; damn thing would run 100+mph. Damn that was stupid on the open hwy now that I look back at it  |
Had a CR500 I use to race. Thought I needed it. Man was I wrong. That thing was a beast to try and race motocross with.

My 250R was stolen right before I went to basic training in 1991. |
speaking of 250's just picked one up a little while ago love it its a 88 trx250r with a ct 310 engine they are a blast to ride.
|
i had dirtbikes when i was growing up and had at different times a kx100, kx250, cr250, crf250 and dad had a cr500 and it scared me to death, i rode it a few times and it was a beast. I got rid of the last one when i got my brute force 750 and its a good time too, just a different kind of fun.
|
my deceased neighbor had a '97 cr500. my other neighbor was the widow's father, and he called me over there to see if i would be interested in a dirt bike. i walked in the garage, saw it, and was like wtf am i gonna do with that thing? lol he said a young lady came out to look at it before me, and even though she had some experience as a rider, he told her politely she would kill herself. looking back on it, i probably should have bought it, because im sure it was a smoking price but i just didnt know anything about dirtbikes, and i sure as the world would have broken myself on it. but i now have a 1989 cr250.
|
id love to get something like that cr250, an older one that i wont be so worried about messing up.

The very first dirtbike my stepdad ever bought me and my brothers was a used YZ400. We were 14, 13, & 11 and had NO bidness being on something that powerful at that age. So my stepdad proceeds to take us out into the field in front of the house to teach us how to ride it and within 2 minutes he crashes and breaks his femur :hysterical: Needless to say, we kept that bike for about a year and none of us kids ever crashed it. But it was 3 & 4 wheels from that point forward once we got rid of the YZ. |
I still think I have a couple of trophies somewhere from Winning or second place in Roan Mountain. The 3 wheelers were a blast. Went from that to a Banshee, a Polaris 500 scrambler, Polaris 250 Trailblazer, and a Yamaha 660 Raptor (nothing but a wheelie machine). After being slammed several times by 4 wheelers I learned I wasn't getting up off the ground like I use to when I was younger, and got off them. Got a Yamaha 450 Rhino, and now a Kawasaki 750 Teryx. The Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki place in Orangeburg has a mint 250R 3 wheeler hanging from the cieling, as a show piece..:bigthumb:
