Supercharged GTO prices? [Not Monaro]
 

Got a guy who wants to trade me his bluish-silver supercharged GTO with around 65k miles. Stock drivetrain and suspension. D1SC unit. Auto (yuck). Looks clean and well maintained. He said he'd also add $2500 to the deal, for my C5Z.

The question I have is not whether it's a fair trade necessarily...but more so how much would his car sell for on EBay or Craigslist? Particularly EBay.

My goal was to sell the car and use half the money to pay off all self-inflicted debts (minus mortgage), and buy a cheaper car for fun/DD. If y'all think I can get around $18-20k for his then I might do it.

I can post more specs/pics if that will help. I know for sure it doesn't have CTSV brakes.

what year is it? the gto is worth around 18-20 k if it is a 2005 or 2006. i may even want it. lol

i found GTO's from 9k up to 15k... when i bought the cobalt, in 2010, i was finding supercharged cars with tons done to them for under 20 without a problem.

So are you saying that it would be tough to get $20k out of it? Forum prices don't count lol.

DEAL ASIDE, how much do you think the GTO could sell for?

A bit more info on the GTO would help but honestly i think you would have a hard time getting 20 out of it right now. Id say maybe between 14-18 imo but it all depends on what is done to it.

All depends on the car. Stock auto gto with a Procharger thrown at it? Or does it have supporting mods? How much power?

it should make around 500rwhp with the auto. they make 550 with a m6 and headers on 8 pounds.

I was just on the phone with a guy that owns a local vette shop and i asked him what an 01 z06 with your mods would go for, he said he didnt think any more then 16 or so. I'd jump on the gto man if its legit. Take someone with you that knows what there looking at, maybe weldon he seems pretty smart. They can stick you in the tight places to look for dust bunnys while he looks the rest over.

They only thing I would be worried about is the transmission. I don't know much about the auto gto's but not many stock trannys last long at 500rwhp.

Yeah the drivetrain worries me. But I don't plan on keeping it...would sell it. Who knows, he was also looking at a cobra. (Inb4douchewadsaysthatsabetterdeal)

GTO suspension and drive train should worry you. I have well over 10k invested suspention/driveline just to support stock power levels.

with an auto it should be fine. the trans will need to be upgraded eventually.

Welp he apparently wanted a cobra anyways..so he went with that. No worries here!

More like the fifth at least. Second supercharged one though. I'm not worried...I've had probably 40 or so (reasonable) trade offers over the past 6 months...most were dedicated drag cars or purpose built and not a good DD car. The others were either just not really worth a straight up trade or were too boring.

To be honest I love my car, black gas cap and all. It does everything I want...and in my opinion is the best bang for the buck. But I also really want to pay off my debts and breathe easier.

Ive got a good driveshaft, strut bearings and radius rod bushings in the front, pedders springs/shocks/diff mount in the back. No where near enough stuff to make a perspective buyer worry IMO.

what about lt1 camaro?

It stays on the jackstands..hence the 4 fuel ups. Probably a typical leak somewhere. :mrgreen:
