Well......does anybody have a pulley puller?

So I started my car to let it warm up while I get my stuff ready for my game. I come back out to put my bag in the car and hear a strange metallic noise. I pop the hood and find this.....

Wow the backside of the pulley seperated from the rest of it? Damn how tight is that belt? lol

Jeff 05-22-2008 10:57 PM

Ouch that sucks Magoo !

I wish I could help you but my pulley puller grew legs and walked away .

DolSVT00 05-22-2008 11:30 PM

No it didn't Jeff, it's safe and sound Mike borrowed it and loaned it to me so I could put my 2 piece on......... I still have it in a box in my garage.

Jeff 05-22-2008 11:41 PM

Hell I never knew Mike even borrowed it !

Well there you go Magoo one pulley puller to use .

Whaler 05-23-2008 06:16 AM

Gotta love those happy endings. :Group Hug:

SWThomas 05-23-2008 06:45 AM

WOW! And it's a Reichard too. I would call Reichard and have them send you a pulley tool with a new pulley. Free of charge of course....:)

Magoo 05-23-2008 08:16 AM

I'm going to call Lethal today along with RR and see if they'll warranty it, the pulley is only about two years old. The belt is pretty damn tight, but I can't see it being tight enough make the pulley seperate like this. Well Jeff....um....thanks for letting me borrow you're puller!

Is that he same RR that use to blow up Marauders all the time, because they didn't know how to tune them? If so I am glad to see that their quality didn't change..

:bob

Magoo 05-29-2008 03:57 PM

Well Jim at Reichard agreed to send me a new pulley if I send back the old one. But he doesn't make the 2.75 anymore, I have to decide whether I want a 2.65 or 2.80 pulley to replace it.

slow04 05-29-2008 04:40 PM

With the 2.80,you wouldn't have to retune..........

I know a few years back right after the Marauder came out, there was a bunch of Marauder owners that couldn't stand some Reinhart guy, because he blew up a few different Marauders. I am not sure where he is from, but he did tunes and supercharger mods to them, and blew them up on the dyno before the owners got them back.

2.65! Mo Powah!

Magoo 05-29-2008 05:51 PM

LOL, either way it won't be a big difference. A 2.80 is about 1/4lb less boost and the 2.65 is about 1/3lb more boost. I'll probably get the 2.65 pulley, my A/F was mid 11's I'm sure there's enough room for another 1/3lb of boost.

I'd love to be at the track every weekend I just haven't had the time. The club has been pretty slow lately with everybody afraid to spend money so I'm having to spend more and more time there trying to renew members and recruit new members. My only real day off is Sunday and I have games every Sunday so it's tough to make it out to the track. I'd love to go soon though, and get all this rust off! Once I get this pulley swapped and get the car on the dyno to make sure everythings ok I'll make some time to come out there. I'm itching more than anybody to see what the car would run, if I can manage to actually drive it that is.......:hide:

Magoo 07-14-2008 02:11 PM

Well a little update on this thread. I still don't have a pulley. I shipped the pulley off the week of May 26th. According to USPS it arrived to his shop on the 30th. We spoke and agreed on a 2.65 pulley to replace my 2.75. He explained me they had been hit by lightning and had to have some machines replaced that had been damaged before he could make me a pulley. He said he would be about a week maybe two before I recieved the pulley. A few weeks later I sent him the pictures that I posted on here to show him that I didn't damage the pulley myself, he thought the pulley coming apart might have been my fault. Then after not receiving a pulley or an update I called him on July 9th and 10th to leave messages. I called him again today the 14th and finally got ahold of him. He explained to me that he just got his parts for the machines on Friday and spent the whole weekend getting everything setup. So it will take another week or two before he can get a pulley out to me. I explained that I need a pulley before next week as I need it to drive to Mustang Week. He assured me that he will have it to me by the beginning of next week so I'll have it in time. I'm hoping he'll stand by his word, we'll see what happens next week.
