Picked this up yesterday. 91 Eagle Talon TSi AWD. Bought it from the original owner. Only has 92k miles on it. He shed a few tears after selling it and understandably so after owning it for 22 years. Probably one of the cleanest 1G Talons you will see these days.

Those were crazy expensive new where they not?

I believe the sticker price was $19k-$22k or so back then, certainly not cheap.

I recall seeing this body style in the low 30's...not sure what model but this looks like it would be the top model.

Just checked it out, this is from a review in 1991:

Base price of the Talon TSi 4WD model is $16,513. Standard equipmentincludes performance suspension; power brakes and steering; all-season, 16-inch, steel-belted, radials and alloy wheels; rear window defogger;automatic-off headlamps; driving lamps; intermittent wipers; power mirrors;tilt steering; tinted glass; AM/FM stereo with cassette and six speakers;automatic shoulder belts; carpeting; leather-wrapped wheel and gearshiftlever; and wrap-around spoiler.

Our test car added the $681 antilock brakes, $823 automatic and $163security alarm, plus a preferred equipment group for $1,588 that included air conditioning, speed control, rear window washer/wiper, power windows/doorlocks. The sticker read $19,768 plus $328 for freight.



If you convert that to today's money it's $32,820.75. Basically like buying a new top of the line WRX these days.

my brother is a dsm enthusiast and I see em all the time back home....never EVER seen one with that clean of interior and never seen an engine bay without oil leaking somewhere :bigthumb:

Very nice but DD and dsm don't belong in the same world...

I had a very clean 1g 10yrs ago I haven't seen one nearly as nice since then until now.

Disagree as usual, I dd'd mine for a long time with zero issues.

Not to turn this into a pissing match but if you really think "most" are daily driver worthy at this age then you're just being argumentative.

I daily mine but it was fairly new then and everybody had problems with them even then I can't imagine they've gotten more reliable as they've gotten older.

I gave him my "blizzak" super soft snow tires...it LAUNCHED on those....he ran them all summer :(

I didn't say most, you generalized and said none of them are good dailies. It's just like any other car, if you take care of them and do the maintenance they'll last. I just get tired of the bad rap they get from people like you.

I'm not going to argue the reliability or reputation of dsm. If you're that intent on arguing with me just use the block button so you don't have to see my post.

PS, I'm not putting them down I am a big fan of 1g eclipse/talon/lasers but I'm also not naive enough to think their reliability is in the class of a Honda or Toyota.

Saw this in person today. CLEAN is an understatement. Great buy.
