And finally, I cut the 3" vbands off and got a transition to 2.5". I welded that on and the 2.5" vbands for them. I'm waiting on my tubing to arrive, which isn't going to be until tuesday. I also got the front brake lines made and routed along with mounting plates for the rear brake line.

Thanks! It's a lot of work and there's quite a bit more to go. |
I like it a lot
|
the project you are doing is nearly identical to what im working on right now. i have been working on my wheel tubs the last 2 weeks, and i have a mockup block sitting in the engine bay ready for me to do the motor plates. twin turbos as well.

Looking good.

I don't think I'll paint it any time soon. I think I like gunmetal or black |
Looking good, you done a lot of work already. What tig welder do you have?

Synchro wave 180. I've had it for 5 years or so. |
I can't remember the last time I saw a 69 Chevelle. Nice
|
Very nice and cool car. It will be cool to see peoples faces when they hear the weird turbo noises coming from a Chevelle..

Looks good! A website for you to check out for parts if you haven't already is www.teamchevelle.com.
Looking at putting a LS in my 68 chevelle in the next year or so myself. But just N/A and converting the car over to fuel injection. |
I finally got my 2.5" stainless, t4 flanges and merge pieces. I got one side fitted and welded up. I welded a tab to the t4 flange and made a support out of 3/4" dowel rod.

I got the drivers side turbo mounted and finished welded. I also made and welded a bracket for my steering shaft.

I got the drivers side downpipe fabbed up. I'll get the passengers side done tonight. The wideband bung isn't in the most ideal place, but I cut up my old downpipe and that's where it was there. The wideband fits, but I'll have to make something to make sure the wires don't get burnt up.

I'm jealous.
This thread makes me want an old car again. |
dumb Q, but would the wideband not go before the turbo? IDK, just asking..

Got the passenger side downpipe all done. I'll probably have to swing them inward but for now they are done.

Aluminum is much less forgiving when welding. I got the turbos to firewall fabbed up. I also got my driver side seat mounted. I should have started at the v bands and went to the turbos, but did the opposite.

Looking good!

I got some stuff done. I got the brake lines all tightened, made brackets for the rear end and all of the brake lines are mounted and tight. I do have to figure out the push rod for the wilwood master cylinder.
I also got some of the cold side done. I got from the firewall to behind the front seat. I have two 90's to weld on there and the vband and that will be done. Then I can mount the intercooler and then run the piece to the engine. http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ps3qkjansa.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...pss57peepn.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...psej1ovhmw.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ps0iok5p9t.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...psvi41r9qp.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...psmykrqbjw.jpg |

Great work! Can't wait to see the finished product!

I got the drivers side wastegate mounted. I got it in better placement than I thought I could get.

I got the wastegates mounted and the return piping from the intercooler to the throttle body.

I realize this is a old thread. Just had to ask. Are you sure that's a 69? It has a 68 grill. Got a picture of the taillights and the dash? 68 does have vent windows, but that one has plexiglass, so it could go either way.
|
I did see a glimps of the dash. Looked like a 69.
|
It's definitely a 69. It has a 68 grille. Long over due updates:
