******Track Rental April 25th, The date is Set******
 

April 25th will be the day, Dewayne’s World Fast Track (Bowman) will be the place.The cost will be $15 a vehicle but will be a closed event for the Miata club, Carolina Horsepower, and possibly the Coastal Carolina Corvette club. The time will be from 2-6pm. Spectators will be allowed but at a reduced rate.

Chris, youll find that most car clubs do not have forums, and if they do their heavily moderated. Too much free speach causes problems for a dictatorship and builds a collective of opinions for certian things.

Example: you could have 4 members that collectively like to autocross and 4 members that like to Drag race, but yet you have 2-3 club leaders or senior members that spent all their money on shiney intakes and blinky blinky lights and their car is too slow to put on a drag strip or they spend 400 hours waxing their wheel wells and dont want to get rubber on them.

You give them a forum where the other members can talk about stuff on a regular basis and all of a sudden the dictatorship has to make a decision on something they didn't want to do in the first palce. Then the other members that dont autocross or drag race get all butt hurt cause their car is slow as balls.

Never been in a car club myself, mostly because of the reasons stated above.
Ive been around them alot in Florida, when i used to live there and its alwayse been that way and it will alwayse be that way.

And its the reason why they alwayse come and go, they last a while sometimes but their fate is sealed from the begining.

I have been in some nice clubs with no drama and was a blast. But than again these clubs were "lowrider" based and when people who drag raced went to the track on a nice event, the others who do not race went and had a blast hanging out and running at the test and tune events.

It would be nice if we have more of a turn out then both of those "CAR CLUBS"!!!!!

Just remember, these guys were nice enough to let us in on it......... They (most of them) don't want to race us, even the slowest of us.......

Just PLEASE be tactful and ask before you go to the staging lanes against a car that you know your gonna kill (most of them) remember these are car club guys and they(some of them) get butt hurt if they get killed, unlike most of us (used loosely) could care less if we win or loose ,as long as we get a new best.......

Yeah, this is what is on the miata's website

"We will also invite our friends from the local Corvette Club and Mustang Club, but they will not be “racing” against us"

Oh well, maybe the corvettes and mustangs won't be so tenderoni!!!!

So we need to practice the following saying:

"Excuse me sir/ma'am, can we race even if I may win?"

"excuse me, I am going to gap you here shortly, is that a problem"

I'm not even going out for a new best, I just want to go hang out and have fun. I might make a few passes but it's not going to be my best unless I get a hundred mile an hour tale wind:hysterical:

I would just be going to go and run. Hell, I would get beat by everything including the track tractor.

I doubt I could beat some of those miata's that have the V8's in em and most of those corvettes and mustangs are gonna whoop up on me. I guess I can handle getting my ass handed to me.:miss::cheers

The "Mustangs" that they speak of is most likely us........... They, like many others around here think of this site as a Mustang club.

I can see Im gonna have to ban the "Rolodex Racer" slowgreen99 from this event.

I think of it as a Lightning site :P

I bet there's more mustangs than lightnings on here...................

I didn't even see anything about this event on the corvette's web site, so I wonder if they'll even be many corvettes there. We'll have enough fun racing each other that we won't even notice the 10 sec. passes that those miata's make:joke:
