One of these days I gotta test drive some other smart phone but until then Ill stick with the Iphone. I like it a lot I just hate ATT.

Carlrx7 07-02-2010 02:30 PM

Sprint charges an extra 10 bones a month for the 4g, even in charleston where we dont have 4g for another year.

i got the Iphone 4 the day it came out, my first iphone. display is amazing, highest resolution.. most responsive touch screen.

the bad so far, oviously AT&T is number 1, then the antenna issue doesnt help, and finally so far is the bluetooth is crippled on this bitch. pretty much can only connect to bluetooth headsets and headphones.

-Carl

Oh and 32GB internal memory, damn..

Every iphone to date has been this way. Maybe one day apple will allow file transfer between itunes and iphone using BT.

Sprint says the charge is for a "premium user experience". That translates to -We were too lazy to implement software to restrict 4G access to those who donÔÇÖt pay for it" But they also know people will still pay/buy it...

I mean speaking on the antenna issue... Crapple releases a device with the "revolutionary" new design feature that takes your Ip4 and turns it into an IPod Touch instantly by holding it naturally while on a call... They then blame the user for holding the device incorrectly and say "Hey, you too can use your Ip4 to make calls without the worry of them dropping with the purchase of this 45 cent rubber band that goes around the phone! All for the low low price of 29.99!" and still people still buy them by the ass loads...

Hmmm I have Sprint and they don't charge me for 4g access... I really want the HTC Evo but don't particularly feel like shelling out $500 for it.

I have a evo they do not charge the 10 for 4 g in this area. Plan for plan Sprint is a lot cheaper for the data plan than att. Why you got to pay 500 for a phone you cann't upgrade for 200

minytrker 07-03-2010 01:36 AM

It really all depends on where you live. I had sprint for 7 years while in Charleston and had a smoking business plan and never had any problems with them for the most part. I always had good signal everywhere for the most part except out in some parts way out in the country.
I moved back to Texas and have a place out in BFE and never had a signal and dropped calls everyday. I switched to AT&T and now pay double BUT my phone works 99.99% of the time here where I am vs never having a signal with sprint. Everyone here where I live all have at&t just for the better coverage out here.

It's only on the Evo (currently, Samsung is releasing the Galaxy Pro 4G that will have this charge as well) that has the charge.

Great thing about Sprint is the roaming agreements they have with VzW. So in a lot of cases where Sprint lacks VzW picks up the slack.

I can't wait until September. This is when I can upgrade my phone without paying full price. HTC Evo FTMFW!

I just recently got a droid. I like it. But its the first smart phone Ive had so I dont know how they compare. My GF has a blackberry and I hate it. Its the touch screen type that has no real keyboard. Its really slow compared to my droid.

blubyu87gt 07-04-2010 07:26 PM

You should see that thing running the 2.2 op system. Has some new software called Just In Time that makes it three to five times faster. Also plays Flash 10.1 for all your video site needs! I am running a pre release version and all I can say is damn!

Carlrx7 07-19-2010 10:44 PM

+1 except for the txt.

They have some free smart phones, I just don't see me adding a 29 dollar monthly fee to my 60 dollar cell phone bill. Hell that's 50% more for shit I would rarely use.

Carlrx7 07-19-2010 11:24 PM

i got a bumper already when i first got the phone.. now i gotta wait for the refund..
